Palms hotel is conveniently located on the Old Hume hwy. The rooms are quiet as they are located behind the bistro and well away from the main road.

The rooms are spacious and basic, though for a quick stop for an overnight stay, this is more than sufficient. It's about 20 - 30 minutes from Sydney international airport, so for those who have an early flight this is a good location that balances between cost and distance.

The beds are comfortable enough and there are basic coffee and tea facilities, along with a small fridge. A TV is in the room and the bathroom is clean.

On this occasion, whilst the bathroom was tidy and clean, there was some semblance of mould on the walls and ceiling. Staff should attend to this.

1. Value for money. You get what you pay for. Don’t expect a five start facilities when you found this hotel the cheapest in the town.

2. Rooms are clean, room service everyday, toilets are clean and smell free.

3. Comfortable sleep without noise.

4. Big free parking on site available

5. A bit far from the center of the city, You must have your own vehicle as access to public transport is limited and far.

Recommend to anyone who is coming to Sydney for a leisure trip.

The nicest 3 star hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The service staff were first class. Great inexpensive bistro food.

Absolutely disgusting. We felt so dirty and unsafe. The bathroom window was broken-anyone or anything could have got in during the night. Door wasn’t locked. Filthy dirty. The lighting was very bad but that was probably deliberate to hide the condition of the room and the dirt. We had booked and paid for 3 nights but left after 1 night. Avoid at all cost. Very bad location also.

On my first trip to Sydney we were driving thru a not so nice neighbourhoods and then the next suburb was our stay. From the outside it looked like a rough old backwater pub, that was until we stepped inside. Wow clearly the owners had spent a large amout of money inside and it was decorated in traditional asian fashion. It was tasteful and pleasant. The first stop was dinner where we sat in what could only be described as a sports bar, massive screens lined the walls with a mix of business and old bar fly. Then the food came, holy cr@p it was some of the best tasting food I have ever eaten well cooked fresh and well paportioned. Now the rooms again they dont look like much from the outside, but again these rooms had been worked over very modern and clean much better than the room I pictured for the price. And finally the staff, what can I say other than warm friendly and professional. I would recommend this place to anyone that was looking for a cheaper sydney destination.

The room had food (corn chips) and a couple of beer caps on the floor. It definitely hadn’t been cleaned - wouldn’t stay here again. Walls were so thin and believe it or not through a PowerPoint that had a gap we could here everything from the room next door - definitely a very basic pub room - photos were very deceiving

Rang and booked room for my dad working away. Wouldn't hold room until he arrived in 2 hrs without a credit card first. Dad arrived and was given key and room number 27, used the key to open the door and the room was already occupied with a guest sitting on his bed. My dad was left embarrassed and had to apologise. Went back and got a different room key. Opened and room 24 was half cleaned but not fully, bed was made, but room had furniture pulled away from walls and coins and mobile phone wrapper box left in room from previous guest. Bedside lamp had no bulb, bathroom light didn't work, no screen on bathroom window. Tv didn't work and No fridge in room. Was told it was too late to change rooms that night and was still charged the full rate - however given a dinner voucher as apology. We requested to be moved to a more appropriate room and was moved to room 25. Room was clean and everything worked and had a fridge. Due to work booking was cancelled a night earlier than expected but advised will still be charged and will use as credit which was ok as we rebooked for the following whole week (sun - Fri) for work. Dad arrived on Sunday night and NO BOOKING was found. And were told they were fully booked and they were left to have to find accommodation elsewhere.
This place is so unorganised and no one knew what was happening, one staff member even argued with me about what day it was. Very disappointing.
