The Cutaway is a slightly quirky event space that more often than not hosts art events, cut from sandstone that is still exposed, it's always interesting to see what is happening here. The views from the location are also pretty fantastic.
However please note:
Food at the venue isn't an ever present thing it relies on food trucks to do this service.
Bathrooms exist here.
Transport is only OK / not great closest train station is Wynyard (barangaroo exit).
Buses aren't far check routes relevant to you but you'll still need to walk in.
Cycling in is my preferred method and usually there bike lock up parking close by, literally seconds from the entrance.

A truly wonderful, airy space and perfect for the art installations which are a part Biennale. Each of the installations stand out to be viewed in their own right but have also been cleverly curated to weave into each other against the shade and light of the space itself, giving you a different perspective at each turn. If you’re after an explanation of the works, there are QR codes which will give you some insight. I just preferred to walk slowly amongst it, feeling inspired and uplifted by it all. That, to me, is great art πŸ‘Œ

Went on a bit of a hike exploring Sydney, and came across this place. There were no events on so I didn't know exactly what this place is for, but the engineering in this is quite a sight to see! Looks like they've carved out a massive piece of a hill given the huge limestone walls, and they've got this massive big underground space to hold events at. We then walked up the stairs to the top, and there's a lovely large grassed area with paths around there. A great spot to watch the sunset, plus you can catch a glimpse of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. A nice place to walk and explore, and I'd love to attend an event here given it's a very unique location!

This is a perfect space for events. I was there for the Taste of Sydney festival in November 2018 and had a great experience. There is still a lot of construction happening around the area so parking is a little difficult but once the new railway station happens, it will be a lot easier to access.

Well organised experience. Endure the cold coming here but you will be warmed up from the surrounding pit fires, food and mulled wine😁. Came with my kids early (6:00pm) and got a seat. By the time it hit 7pm there was a line but it cleared very quickly. One of the list places to visit in 2023 Vivid event.

The Sydney Finders Keepers markets, occurring twice a year, have been running here. They were here in May, and will be back here in December. The venue is very spacious and provides a very relaxed vibe. It's a lovely walk from Barangaroo Wharf, perhaps an extra long one due to construction, but enjoyable nonetheless. You can easily take a break from the event you're attending, sit on the rocks that slowly descend toward the water that stretches out in front, or take a stroll through Barangaroo Reserve. The Cutaway is wheelchair accessible, has a lift and accessible toilets.

We recently saw the Frida Kahlo exhibition here !
An interesting space amongst the sandstone
and the new harbour pool is a huge asset to the area

Visited the Frida Kahlo exhibition. Wow what a fantastic art space. Be prepared to walk because it is a fair distance from public transport and there is no shade or cover on the path there.
