Bakehouse on Wentworth is a pie lover’s dream! The potato pie is absolutely amazing – buttery, flaky pastry with a hearty, comforting filling. The tandoori chicken pie is next level – packed with flavour, just the right amount of spice, and so satisfying. Everything tastes fresh and made with real care. Great service, lovely atmosphere, and consistently high-quality food. Easily one of the best bakeries around Leura. Can’t wait to come back for more!

I tried it because it came highly recommended by guide but mainly I never had kangaroo pie before.
Place is crowded at time of visit with long queue but moved reasonably.
Bought 4 pies about US$24, not cheap.
Kangaroo pie tasted good. Big chunks meat, not gamey. Crust was nice, soggy in the bottom with all the gravy.

Pretty average experience. I tried the Kangaroo pie. The tomato based sauce was a bit too acidic for my taste with a metallic aftertaste. Big chunks of lean meat were in the pies was similar to a stewed lean beef chuck. The pastry was very underwhelming with a lack of flakiness and only a very mild buttery taste. Got a sausage roll as well and it was underwhelming as well. The meat filling was fragrant with tons of herbs. However, the large amounts of fillers makes it difficult to tell it is even a meat filling.

Absolutely blown away by this bakery! We tried the kangaroo pie, minced meat pie, and sausage roll—each one more delicious than the last. The flavors were rich, the pastry perfectly flaky, and the fillings incredibly savory. And don't get me started on the cream-filled pastries—an absolute dream! They also have an impressive selection of freshly baked bread. To top it off, the young lady who served us was super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended! If you're in the area, you have to stop by. 10/10!"
