Beautiful views over the valley – highly recommend booking a window seat in advance, especially if you’re coming all this way. We booked a month early for two people and were lucky to get a spacious 4-person window table.

The restaurant is elegant and spacious, perfect for a relaxing high tea. There are a few high tea sets to choose from, and everything was tasty and well-presented.

Great service, amazing setting – a lovely experience overall. Definitely worth a visit!

Our Mother’s Day afternoon High Tea was beautiful. The furnishings are superb, views stunning and the food was delicious. We could not eat it all, there was so much.

We have wanted to experience the Hydro Majestic's charm and opulence for many years now. As a child I grew up driving past frequently, and though it has taken decades I am overjoyed that I experienced the magic this place offers with my mum and daughter. Three generations of appreciation.

Was a joy to watch my mum and daughter immerse themselves of the decor and era atmosphere imagining this place was our home for a few indulgent moments.

The service was professional and considerate. Though we had originally booked for 5 but unforeseen circumstances prevented 2 of our party from attending, I was not charged at all for the cancellation even though it was late notice.

We will certainly be back, possibly for another celebration.

So grateful for the shared experience of this beautiful place.

Having high tea at The Wintergarden Restaurant was quite a special experience and was a good place for a special celebration. Even if it was raining a fair bit and was foggy when we went there. Whilst most of the time it was foggy with the constant rainfall, there was a brief moment the fog cleared up, and indeed, the view was spectacular. It was still beautiful in its own mystical ways. Also, the decor for the restaurant was beautiful and truly added to the ambience. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and loved the colonial era decor, which added to the beauty of the ambience.

We chose the standard high tea set with one of us choosing a cup of coffee and another, a pot of green tea. The food was delightful and a good portion as well. They were beautifully arranged and were such a pleasure to have in such a beautiful setting & by the window. The fruit scone is truly memorable. The tea was unfortunately quite ordinary. To quite a large extent, wishing they had fine chinaware that some high tea places would have, including a wider range of tea selection. This, I believe, would have added to the experience.

The service would have been a 5 star rating with how attentive and courteous Matias was, including Brad, who was also really friendly. Unfortunately, I can't say the same was experienced with Kona (I think that was how his name was spelt). One of the drink orders was coffee. It wasn't warm when it was brought over. We didn't realise until the food arrived and took a sip to realise it was already cold. When requested to change to a new hotter cup of coffee, Sakura obliged, but when Kona brought the fresh cup of coffee, he made a passing remark that the cup of coffee should be drunk while it was hot. It was rather rude given the food had only arrived and quite rarely would coffee be taken on an empty stomach by either of us. That passing remark did dampen the experience that even a very foggy day with not being able to see much of Megalong Valley did not.

Also another minor observation. The vase on our table was quite badly chipped and we noticed a few other tables too has chipped vases. I would recommend the restaurant to inspect and change out the chipped ones.

Despite that brush of unexpected service, this is a venue is still worth checking out with a strong possible return when it is not foggy.

My wife and l celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a few days away in the blue mountains which included a very special dining experience at Wintergarden which did not disappoint.
The meal was exquisite as l would expect from all the reviews that l had read but what stood out for me was the staff who genuinely try to make every guest feel very special and all go out of their way to make dining at Wintergarden an event to remember.

A wonderful afternoon spent with delicious food and the most beautiful view. As a vegan, I was sceptical of the selection I would be served, but each tier of food was wonderfully crafted with a great selection of textures and flavours. We just wish that the live pianist played for longer than 15mins.

The staff were very welcoming and fussed over my partner as it was her birthday we were celebrating.
Our waitress Elle was so accommodating, even taking pictures for us.
Food was Devine, lovely atmosphere and the view was spectacular

Amazing building surpassed only by the view. The food was really good and could not eat it all. The main disappointment was being placed on a table that had one seat looking at the view and the other the wall. I would understand if the room was full but it was not. I think the staff need to appreciate why the customers are coming to the venue. A pity because otherwise a good experience.

Went for high tea in celebration for the arrival of my cousins baby and they prepared her dishes with congratulations, a very sweet touch. Excellent food, beautiful venue and jaw dropping views. Worth every penny, can't wait to do it again
