This hidden gem was an excellent place to stay at a great price. Just a short walk from Sydney Opera House and the Circular Quay. Room was quiet even with the noisy and excellent bar downstairs. My wife and I had an excellent couple nights here. Staff was very friendly and helped us find the fun places to go when we arrived. Food and beer are also amazing. Highly recommend the fish and chips and an Old Admiral Ale.

We loved it from the start. The staff were so lovely and greeted us with huge smiles. Our room was a pub room, with full private bathroom. It's was extremely clean, comfortable, safe, quiet, warm. Please don't bother booking here if you are expecting a very large 5 star motel with an elevator. You will have to walk up stairs. There is no elevator! But if you love old buildings and history (183 years of beauty), then I highly recommend this place 👌perfectly suited if you are planning to walk around The Rocks. Easy walk to Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. We have already started talking about our next booking

This historic building hotel located in the very heart of Sydney's is a hidden gem. This was our second visit and stay here. Hotel rooms are a decent size, a bit noisy from the pub downstairs, and street traffic, but the service is excellent from check-in to check-out.
The location is excellent, close enough to Sydney Opera House, so you can walk there and pretty much to all the attractions in that area.
The pub downstairs offers typical pub food, but my fave was the beer selection 😉... The oldest australian pub brewery did not disappoint.

Stopped at The Brew Bar for a cold drink after browsing The Rocks Markets. Charlotte looked after us very well, as did JT. I left the hubby here whilst I went back to buy something and then decided on lunch. We shared the nachos and had beer and wine.||These staff went out of their way to chat and recommend a light beer for me which I don't usually drink. Excellent choice. We will definitely return next time we are in Sydney.||Thank you both once again, I hope, JT, that you managed to get to Surfers and avoid the bad weather.||Great place to sit on a weekend and people watch.

Best. Pub. Ever. The fish & chips were exceptional. The stuff of dreams. Admittedly, the chips looked a bit McDonalds, but with malt vinegar and their Devine mayo/capers sauce, great. I’m not going to mention the fish and mushy peas. Best experienced rather than described.

Only visited the pub - arguably the oldest. Met a friend for a bottle of red (and lunch) on a cold Tuesday arvo. Nice and cosy, except I would've liked to have the fireplace going, but it was a week day lunch. The owner came to check on us, what a treat.

Great location! Great beers. Highly recommend. The place is quite busy and has limited seating for walk-in’s. I would suggest to reserve a table before going to get a chance to sit in the atmosphere of the brewery. All beers are named in relation to sailing (pretty neat).
