We were looking for some last minute accomodation near the entrance to Mr Field National Park. I booked Valleys and Mountains B&B through booking.com, and realised when we arrived at Ron and Sandra's that we probably should have called to confirm. Ron was looking after the place solo while Sandra was away, and, as he said, he can't drive the computer. ||||Happily, there was room at the inn and Ron made us feel welcome and fed us some homemade bickies and a cup of tea. The bed was comfortable, the cat friendly, the bathroom clean (and shared between all guests, that's a feat!) and the breakfast generous. The rate for two people was pretty good, and about right for this level of accomodation.||||I also missed the small print about the property being cash only - sorry! Lucky for us, we could use their wi-fi to bank transfer.||||You will need a car to get here.||||I'd probably call this property a home-stay, more of a central Asia guesthouse than a traditional Australian or English B&B.

Well located near the small township of Maydena, within minutes of Mt Field national park and in middle of southwest Tasmanian wilderness. We stayed one night, and our twin room was very comfortable and clean, with fast wifi. The room rate is also among the lowest in the area. Hospitality from the hosts were superb, we were welcomed like members of the family. On top of that, the cooked breakfast was the best we had our entire Tas trip. Could not have asked for any more, highly recommend!

Spent 2 nights in this warm cosy little retreat where the hosts treated you as one of the family. This B & B is situated about 82 kms from Hobart at Fitzgerald on the Tyenna river which has to be one of the best trout streams in Tassie. The breakfast was as good as you would get anywhere with all home grown produce. Evening meals may also be available.

Maydena Chillhouse is a quiet little BnB situated in between National Park and Maydena. The house itself is nice and tidy, and the host who was present during our stay, Cheryl, was friendly. It's worth noting, you may be sharing the house (and therefore bathroom) with other guests. Hot breakfast is provided in the mornings, which made for a good start before setting off to do some hikes in Mt Field national park. Overall, this BnB would be a good place to stay for people who are looking for reasonably priced accommodation near Maydena or Mt Field national park.

Booked for myself and partner for a mountain bike holiday. This B & B was advertised differently on booking.com. Prior to the change of business owners it seems to have exceptional reviews. On our arrival we had Cheryl greet us with poor English and was unsure how to organize payment (no credit card facilities). We were given no orientation and the b&b was dirty and untidy. Cheryl has friends/family working close to the b&b and they slept on the outside couch... photos of sleeping bag and dirty work clothes are in the review. Three other guest were staying at the time which meant 10 people shared a bathroom for the time we were there. The owner was working away - unsure if things are ran differently with him around. We won’t be returning.

Our hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Very knowledgeable about local area. This is an ideal place to base for visiting Mt Field Nat Park, beautiful Russell Falls, amazing Styx Valley & giant trees, and the Gordon Dam.they even know where to site a platypus!

This property is well situated for visiting Mt Field NP and Lake Pedder. Sandra and Ron anticipated our every need. Sandra supplied superb meals from local and mostly home grown produce. As area is quite remote this was an excellent bonus.

Great place to stay, very natural place.
Rooms are very clean and the bed is super comfy.
The breakfast is amazing, you have a great selection of food and drinks, one of my best breakfast I ever had at an Airbnb.
The owner is super friendly and kind.
