Our stay was peaceful and divine 🩷 from Rob's friendly greeting to Stephs warm welcoming energy and Sacha walking us around the property leading to us feeding the horses.. Our room was clean, cosy & comfortable, had all that we needed and was a visual delight.. The gardens were enchanting and full of love! Here's a pic of our French crepès prepared by Steph who is French.. Does it get any better than that - We will be back to treat ourselves to another wonderful stay - Thankyou Beautiful Steph, Rob, Sacha and their Puppa Chopper Love Marni & Suzi xx

A tranquil oasis! Just what we needed. Nice garden areas to sit and read. Amazing crepes and breakfast. Warm and friendly hosts, thanks Steph, Rob and Sacha! We extended our stay by an extra night.

Would love to stay again.

Crepes or pancakes was the breakfast choice...neat! With a car the just outside of town location (2.5 km to be exact) is a cinch, and there is a je ne'sais quois charme about this old collection of "crazy" (as in folie) antiques that pervade. But description said private bathroom, and it was only before arriving that we received an SMS saying bathroom is outside and 15 steps away from our detached room. (Actually more like 15 metres...) Country mornings here are very cold, and the toot and shower were unheated... so very disappointing, and terribly inconvenient for nocturnal visits. Double bed was spring mattress.

What an amazing place!! It needs to be featured on a travel show. Decorations galore in the cottage and garden. The owner has a real flair. The cottage was lovely with an enclosed courtyard which was great for our dog. The owner was lovely and very welcoming. I love that she supports animal charities and welfare and uses environment cleaning products. Good kitchen and bed very comfortable. If you’re looking for a stop in Murray Bridge I highly recommend this place

What an amazing place!! The owner Stef was very welcoming and friendly. These cottages are so tastefully decorated with so many ornaments and knick knacks. Every time I looked I saw something else. It is like no other. Quite spacious with an enclosed courtyard which was great for our dog. Stef has a real eye for design. The garden is full of plants and ornaments. Nice little kitchen to cook in. Very comfortable bed. Highly recommended if you’re stopping at Murray Bridge 😀

I've had the pleasure of staying at A La Folly B&B on a few occasions now and it feels remiss of me not to have previously posted a review. The property has seen a couple of past lives and continues on as a bed and breakfast with continuing development and a most amazing location, atmosphere and hospitality. Stef, Rob and Sacha (... and Chopper) make you feel both special and at home for the entire stay. There are other rooms, but we've always stayed in "the Retreat" (one bedroom cottage - which doesn't begin to describe it !). Nothing is left to chance - it feels like they have thought of everything. Staying here could be as private, secluded, romantic as you'd like - there are in room facilities if you prefer to look after yourself or amazing food options offered by the hosts. I thoroughly recommend staying at A La Folly.

Just an update. I was back here in December 2024.
It really was incredibly beautiful.
And what I wrote below 2 years ago still is very relevant today, the big lake has gone however still stunning for a walk or bike ride.
Everything is still outstanding ❤️

I have stayed @ A La Folly a few times now. I have not stayed since Rob & Stef have upgraded the single room. It has french doors onto a patio, what with the extra rain there was a big lake. I have never seem that amount of water before, spectacular view.
The room was stunning before, it's now even better.
The bathroom upgrade is amazing too. I can see why these guys have 5 star reviews, they more than deserve it. The labour of love at A La Folly is incredible.
Great value, incredible location, Stef & Rob are always so welcoming & accomodating.
Stef & Rob, THANK YOU so much, it was lovely staying again.

Do yourself a favour and stay here. We absolutely fell in love with this wonderful hideaway of serenity peace and amor. Steph was a wonderful hostess welcoming us like old friends. The cottage was Devine with old world rustic charm and decorated nicely with timeless pieces, spacious with ensuite and a comfortable bed. Overly treated at complimentary breakfast of pancakes or crepes, made nicely to French standards 😘, there were also a continental breakfast that we added also as it was hard to resist the French pastries and orange juice. The lovely ambience flowed outside to the courtyards and paths with added pieces of old school and times less pieces, a credit to Rob and his tradesman skills, when wandering hopefully you might spot Cookie the cat and Meet Chooper the loveable dog. Honestly we struggled and were sad to leave after 3 days of bliss, but definitely our return place to be if we ever get back, thank you, Steph, Rob, Sasha and furchilds
