First time guest. The check in and online engagement was terrific - easy, convenient and efficient. Check in at reception met with an incredibly enthusiastic warm
Welcome at reception (Fijian girl unfortunately I missed her name). Clarified our room choice and proactively offerred complimentary upgrade. Was thorough explaining room location, access points and times. All with a great smile and banter. Room was lovely size and easy set of stairs. Shower was a little tight but all clean tidy. Hotel Parking is limited and access height will probably not suit some modern day vehicles. Terrific location for transport, hospitality. Grand building. Happily return when next in that part of Sydney

I don’t often leave reviews but I’m so tired I feel compelled to share my experience.
This is a lovely hotel. The building and courtyard and rooms are beautiful. The location is great, walking distance to lots of lovely restaurants. And the lady who checked me in was lovely.
BUT my room was on the main road (Avoca Street) and I swear it was like the road ran through my room. It was SO noisy all night. Also my AC wasn’t working so the room was very hot and stuffy. And of course I couldn’t open a window. As a result I reckon I woke up every 45 minutes. So if you want to stay here make sure you ask for a room at the BACK of the hotel.
They won’t have my name / booking on the system because it’s a corporate booking.

Great place to stay for visiting Sydney. L2 light rail into the city and Surry Hills on your doorstep, as well as Coogee, Randwick supermarkets and shops and 'The Spot' for a drink nearby. ||Staff all super friendly as well. We had a Courtyard room round the back which was quieter (Heritage rooms looked nice but were roadside facing so could be noisier).|| We enjoyed our stay and would book again.

I stayed at the Lurline for five nights while attending a work conference. What a lovely building and setting, and very friendly staff.

The studio room I was in was clean and spacious, with all the usual amenities. Great location right on the Belmore Rd intersection, so it’s convenient to shops, supermarket, cafes, restaurants, takeaways, the hospital, and the light rail into the city.

The location is bustling, so earplugs are recommended— this is also recommended due to occasional incidental noise from others in the building (its heritage, so there will be creaks and bumps occasionally).

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was small but well-appointed.

I had a terrible experience on my final night with a loud guest in the room above, but one call to the after hours line and this was sorted out swiftly. Cannot fault hotel or staff for such professionalism.

Thank you Lurline, I’ll definitely be back and recommend to friends, family and colleagues!

Excellent location close to public transport, rooms are nicely appointed and staff were lovely leading to an all around great experience. Only down side is the whole place feels like it was built for shorter folks which didnt bother me but anyone 6ft or taller may find it a little too cozy particularly in the common area doorways to the parking area and in the bathroom. Will certainly visit again

Great room, easily accessible via Light Rail. Great courtyard, also.
Adding breakfast (22Grams), is an absolute must.
Definitely coming back for Halloween, and other functions.

We have the front corner room with busy road in both sides (Heritage Deluxe). The room has double glazed windows and thick curtains, so the noise mostly just like a small rolling thunder from passing bus or truck. We can sleep well. |This hotel may not be suitable for people with mobility issue. 1) Traffic Light at front of main entrance, therefore pick up or drop off on the side road (Mears Ave-road with inclination). Side entrance on Mears Ave has stairs (10 steps) with no railing. 2) Ensuite bathroom is a step up from the bedroom floor.|Fridge in the room has a good temperature (around 4 C). If you need freezer, you can leave your item in the Shared Kitchen Room (downstairs).|Curtains and windows should have a big clean. If possible, the door handle of bathroom and shower can be reviewed to make easier to open/close. And finally, a lick of pain is also preferable.
