Worst Pad Thai ever, take away, flavourless, so disappointed. Check out my photos had two tiny pieces of chicken. Absolutely nothing good about this meal and it was $25

We first tried this restaurant during our visit to Yamba last year. We loved it so much that we went there again this year and it did not disappoint. The dishes were delicious and authentic, the service was fast and the decor was very inviting. I'd definitely recommend you go there when you visit Yamba. Be sure to book to ensure you don't miss out!

Holidaying in Yamba and decided to have Thai.
Found the Payu Restaurant. We ordered a Yamba Special, Chicken Pad Thai, and Special Fried Rice with chicken for takeaway. We walked up from the caravan park, and when we walked in, we knew that this was the place to get Thai.
Wonderfully decorated restaurant complete with an outdoor deck, clean and spacious. We got our meal right on time and came back to the van.
The meals were delicious and ample amount of each. It was full of flavour and looked good as well.
We will most definitely be having this again we we are next in Yamba again.
My only suggestion is that maybe 4 prawn in the Yamba Special instead of 3, this makes it an even share between 2 people. 🤭

We end up in the restaurant a bit randomly when stopping in yamba in our way down to Sydney. We were curious about the good vibes of the places from the outside with an outdoors space and a beautiful tree with cozy lights on it. We decided to get in. Was a bit late but they allowed us to order some food. We ordered spring rolls, thai fried rice with chicken and yamba special. To my surprise the three of them were absolutely delicious. The rolls were tasty, crunchy and no oily at all and served with a great sauce. The yamba special was even better. Prawns, chicken a and beef all cooked to its perfection and with veggies and a tasty peanut sauce. The rice... I can only say that in my personal opinion, the best thai fried rice I ever tasted in my life. We absolutely enjoyed this meal and for a more than a reasonable price. Just a pity that we were just passing by and we won't have the chance to enjoy it again.

Excellent food. Starters are more or less standard Thai..spring rolls..thai fish cakes..skewers etc. We started with spring rolls which were light an very tasty. For main we had the chef's special which was sliced beef, chicken and king prawns with cashews in a beautiful tasting sauce with a side of coconut rice.

I didn't even get in the door. I booked solo. I was put in a corner table in the corner walkway which has a strong smell of insect coils and not suitable as a dinner - completely inappropriate seating. When I asked for alternative seating I was told they were booked in an hour which I was happy to just eat and go but staff weren't obliging. Rudest restaurant in Yamba!
Obviously squeeze as many people in there no matter how uncomfortable or impractical.

This is our second visit here and again the service is outstanding. Our booked table had us seated next to a large group with 8 x children and when we asked if we can swap due to my mothers hearing, this is was greeted with smiles and no issues whatsoever.
It may have been a small gesture but it meant a lot to us.
With regards to the food, we had the Prawn Kati, Pad See Ew with Chicken and the Pad Thai with Prawns and all were delicious. Note that it’s also BYO - they do not sell any alcohol - but there is a Bottlo conveniently located across the road.
We also noted that this restaurant closes quite early (they were turning customers away around 8pm) so best make a booking or don’t leave it too late for a walk-in!

Really nice atmosphere, service great and food good. If you are not a big eater then portions are big enough to share. The two of us each had a starter (curry puff and seafood springroll) and then we shared a mains. We just managed to finish the large rice with the mixed seafood basil.
