We recently stayed at The Sailor Shack in Yamba and loved how it blended vintage 1970s charm with modern comforts. The retro decor gave the place so much character, and everything was light, airy, and well-equipped—think quality linen, a full kitchen, and a cozy outdoor deck.

The pool was definitely a highlight, perfect for relaxing and chilling in the afternoon. The house’s layout was ideal for our group, with a separate bungalow offering extra space and privacy.

The Sailor Shack, an original 1970’s retro shack, furnished with vintage pieces to keep the nostalgic feel of the house. Situated a short stroll from the inter-coastal water way and only a few minutes’ drive into town.

Recently renovated and now with new pool, keeping her original style and charm while adding an additional bedroom/en-suite, new bathroom and kitchen plus entertainment deck. She is now bigger and better with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

This stylish place to stay is perfect for couples, families or group trips.

The Sailor Shack can be divided into two spaces, the Shack, having 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and the Bungalow, a self contained apartment with kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom with a queen size bed.
Both can be rented separately or together.

There is also a laundry with washing machine & dryer downstairs as well as a ping pong table.

Staying at The Sailor Shack, you'll have access to both the Shack and the Bungalow.

Getting around is super easy, take your pick of one of the 4 bikes, they make travel fun quick and breezy, it takes about 5-10 minutes to ride into town. Or Jump in your car and take advantage of being anywhere from the lighthouse, to Pippies or Angourie Point in under a 3 minute drive. Or take a stroll to the local cafe just 1 min walk from the house, or the best fish and chips at the co-op and boat ramp, just across the road from the cafe.

We love the sailor shack , the new pool makes it very hard to leave, the kids had a ball. It's great for a couples get away or a family weekend or large group holidays.
We love how close it is to the intercostal river ways, it's a quick bike ride to the beach and town and there is good coffee and the fish co-op for fish & chips is 1 min walk from the house.
Surf in the morning, coffee on the way home and a dunk in the pool makes your morning complete!

Love love love the Sailor Shack and have stayed several times. It’s the most relaxing home away from home with well thought out details and interior styling. The indoor/outdoor living spaces invite you to lean into holiday-mode, let your hair down and shake up some margaritas or crack a cold beer. A short bike ride or drive into town and local surf breaks. Very comfortable beds and linen. We are very excited for the new addition of a pool and look forward to staying this summer. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Sailor Shack. It has everything you need and an easy walk into town.

The beds were amazing with high quality linens.

The outdoor undercover deck was bliss to relax with a book and the perfect entertainment area for lunch and dinner.

I love the sailor shack . It’s the best place to stay with the family in Yamba ! Love the styling and so comfortable. Best sleeps on the Devine linen sheets .We also loved that we could grab a coffee around the corner but so quiet at night .
