What an unassuming spot in Coogee! We walked in as a group for brunch and loved the experience. The service was nice, the setting was chill and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend for those who are looking for a good, quieter spot in Coogee.

Cafe Rafaele is a quaint little cafe with great coffee and bistro style french food. I would recommend the Fish du Jour, super tender poached salmon topped with a zingy and fresh cucumber, fennel, rocket salad. It’s a bit more on the pricey side, but well worth it as the quality of food shows for it. Definitely would recommend and would come back to try their croque monsieur and steak frites.

What an absolute gem at Coogee beach. French inspired and absolutely delicious. Great coffee and the food has a care and authenticity to it, which is very tough to find. Here's a tip, try the lemon and sugar crepes..

I really wanted to like Cafe Rafaele. It's in a great location and other reviews were good. Unfortunately, after waiting for over 20 minutes for someone to take my food order, I decided to pay for my orange juice (small glass, mostly ice, $9) and leave.

The restaurant was busy but not overly so. I'm guessing that with only one lovely, but completely overwhelmed waitress having to take orders, deliver the food from the kitchen, clean tables, and take payment too, delays like this are inevitable.

I'm disappointed I didn't get to taste the food. Maybe I'll be back and bring my own snacks while I wait.
