We had a wonderful stay at Crowne Pavilions near the popular sea-side town of Byron Bay. This was our first visit to Australia and staying at this stunning bed & breakfast certainly has set a very high standard.||||To start with, the scenery and grounds are breathtaking to behold. The images on the website simply do not do these the justice they deserve. The term “paradise” comes to mind.||||There are three “Pavilions” from which to stay in. The one (Sunrise Pavilion) in which we stayed was extremely comfortable, cleaned to a high standard and came with a number of features one wouldn’t normally place in a typical bed & breakfast. These include; a Nespresso maker with milk frother, small refrigerator, kettle, microwave, excellent mattress quality (it felt like it was a Tempur/memory foam type of material) as well as a modern bathroom. Outside our accommodations, the veranda was simply a perfect place to sit (on comfortable lounge chairs) and either take in the view during the day, or to sit and relax in the evenings.||||The breakfasts were really a highlight with your host Susan creating a variety of masterpieces. These included a traditional breakfast, made with bacon from the local- and well regarded- Bangalow pork and local free range eggs, local, hand-made granola, american-style pancakes and even authentic cantonese congee!||||The location is only a short car ride into the bustling town of Byron Bay - where there is plenty to do including a number of cafés, pubs, restaurants, local boutiques, a beautiful, long, sandy beach and of course, surfing. You can visit the most easterly point in Australia at the nearby Byron Bay lighthouse (which is also an excellent place to capture a 360 degree panorama of the local area).||||I cannot recommend this B&B enough and the hosts David & Susan couldn’t have made us feel more welcome whilst at all times fully respecting our privacy. Very well done.

My husband and I like to stay at the back of Byron (ie close to the beach and the benefits of Byron and Bangalow town and restaurants, but not the noise and mayhem) over his birthday (30th) and New Year. We found the rooms peaceful, lovely, beautifully clean, wonderful thick towels, and with great champagne. Sitting on the deck with some yummy Byron Thai takeaway was just brilliant. The breakfasts are some of the best I have ever eaten, making excellent use of local produce, and make the rooms well and truly worth the price (just don't feed Sammy any of your left over bacon (if you can actually leave any)).

The ambiance and resonance of Crowne Pavilions is a tribute to hosts David and Susan Stirling, highlighting a well-traveled culture, intuition for quality, and reverence for attention to detail. Although the location in Byron Bay may speak for itself, the planning and investment in the landscaping and design of this property speaks celestial volumes. ||Lush and alluring gardens invite exploration offering majestic and captivating views, allowing you to lose yourself in moments of blessed tranquility. In our instance, we were further delighted in the company of the happy and cherubic Benny, the hosts Australian Blue Cattle Dog, whose presence did not deter the abundant bird life, their harmonies serenading our walk. The dam is a stunning feature with beautiful water lilies and has a resident platypus. ||We stayed in the Sunrise Pavilion, opulently appointed and exotically furnished, indulgently including premier chocolate coated macadamias. Breakfast was ambrosial and abundant in quality and selection, showcasing the superb local produce of the Northern Rivers District. An in house book that is available featuring these local delights and recipes, and would delight the novice or experienced foodie, now adorns our shelf. ||Beyond simply somewhere to stay, the Crowne Pavilions is an intimate experience that will be long treasured. We’ll be back.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Ivory Villas over the New Year. Just 10 minutes from the Byron Bay area, but you're able to feel a world away, surrounded by the picturesque hinterlands. Nestled amongst acres of lush greenery, Ivory Villas is a perfect romantic boutique getaway. Close to Suffolk Park, Bangalow and Byron Bay and many beaches. The Villa had everything we required. A wonderful bathroom, the most comfortable bed, a bbq, spacious living area with access to all streaming tv services on a large screen. Our hosts Iain and Zora were wonderful, with great communication, providing excellent attention to detail. A stay at Ivory Villas is highly recommended.

Only book if you don't mind a strong musty smell. Very basic "kitchenette". Too expensive for what it is.

We stayed in studio 1 and when we opened the front door there was a strong musty odour. We opened all the windows and decided to even keep them open during the night. It was very cold, but we preferred it over the strong smell. The next day, the owner recommended to us to close everything and turn on the air conditioner, which we did and the smell got even worse. So we spent the second night shivering again with open windows and fresh air. We would have left after the first night, but there was no other accommodation under $1000 left in Byron.

The kitchenette is very basic, no way to cook (except a dirty barbecue and a microwave) and no actual knives to chop anything.

When communicating to the owner and the manager on the arrival day and the day after, they justified the odour due to the studio having been closed and said that we just had to turn on the air conditioner, "it just rained a lot". But we have lived in Byron for the last 7 years and never had to sleep in such a musty place before.

Why don't they have a constant dehumidifier running to avoid this situation? There is a room perfume diffuser on the night stand, but even that cannot hide the strong smell. We asked for a different room but the owner did not seem to care enough to want to change us over.

We would never come back to Ivory Villas and do not recommend it.

We had a magnificent time at the Crowne Pavilions with hosts David and Susan who not only provided wonderful service but their attention to details exceeded customer expectations.||Visiting at possibly the busiest time of the year (Christmas and New Year), we were kindly picked up on arrival and taken to the destination. Immediately stricken by the beauty of the house and it's views, the room (Cathay Pavilion) was immaculate with numerous amenities.||During breakfast, we were presented with a menu featuring the town's seasonal and local produce, also catering to specific dietary requirements. If chance persists, you must try Susan's delicious fluffy pancakes. The trip was lovely, thanks to the hosts, their hospitality was more than welcoming and we would recommend others to stay when visiting Byron Bay.

We loved staying at Crowne Pavilions. The view was spectacular and only matched by the hospitality we received from our hosts - Susan and David. Our room was well presented, immaculately cleaned, tastefully furnished and had good ambience. Breakfast was the highlight of our day - and of course waking up to the beautiful surrounds. We were doted after over breakfast - which was different on all the three mornings we stayed. The food was fresh and locally sourced - we were spoilt. ||||It was hard to leave and we plan to come again soon with some friends to stay for just a few days longer. Make sure you enjoy the gardens and the views and over breakfast you must ask David to put on one of his records.||||Highly recommended! Five star accommodation and hospitality!||||Maria

My wife and I were fortunate to land at Crowne Pavilions following a very hectic trip through Hong Kong and various cities in China. The stay at Crowne Pavilions was the perfect antidote to the tension and anxiety that come from fighting the crowds and noise of the big city and pressures of the job. The peaceful top-notch accommodations provided the best night's sleep we had in weeks. The rooms and furnishings rival those of the best hotels we have visited anywhere. (The rooms were certainly far better than the 5-star hotel where we stayed in Sydney.) Sitting on the veranda overlooking the beautiful grounds and surrounding area and appreciating the quiet provided a wonderful respite. We're already working on a return trip. Susan and David were the perfect hosts.
