I was sad to see the Village Emporium closed on New Year's Day but relieved to see it open on the 2nd.

Always a fan of any cafe that does jumbo-sized coffees, and not expensive. Their coffees are not bitter yet good wake-up; my favourite kind of morning coffee!

Came in for a takeaway coffee & a toasted sandwich. Coffee beautiful. Service great. Atmosphere more than fine for the location. However I asked for a “ham and cheese” toastie & and ended up getting a chicken, cheese & spinach one instead. The spinach tasted horrible & old. Not what I ordered.. was very disappointed. ☹️ This is partially why I don’t visit cafes much anymore because I’m constantly let down by an underwhelming outcome on something I’ve spent money on. Idk if I’ll be back again.

We ordered takeaway food, a smashed avo with feta, halloumi and bacon and also scrambled eggs on toast add bacon. We didn’t receive the bacon with the smashed avo even tho we paid for it. Poached eggs were undercooked and had all the white gluggy bits and everything was cold as well as the toast being burnt. The scrambled eggs were watery and had burnt bits throughout. Also cold. Bacon undercooked and received one small rasher. Also had to wait 20 minutes after we received the hot chocolate and chai. We live a 2 minute drive from the cafe, do not understand how it all was cold by the time we got home. Service was nice and they were all friendly. We understand that they are doing renovations and changing the menu but we left feeling very disappointed in our breakfast.

If you deliver via Uber Eats or any other app, do not attempt a collection from this store. They have refused to bag their coffees as per the delivery contracts to prevent spillage when hiking up customer hilled driveways or to prevent spillage when needing two hands to hold onto railings. I cancelled the order and left the coffees with them, then they lied to Uber that I took the coffees, thinking I would get banned. Deceptive and malicious people. I will be telling other drivers to avoid their store in person and on Facebook driver groups as well. Nice try but I am a preferred and highly rated driver.

I don't know why you have two different prices, cheaper on the website and more expensive on site, this is called "False Advertising". I like to have my cuppa with my waffles, they tasted good but took so long to come and the place was not even busy as it was a Sunday, the French toast says seasonal fruit but none was to be found.
Better customer service, menu prices & food need to be updated on your website if prices have increased/changed.

Good selection of cakes, coffee was good

I have been to The Village Emporium a couple of times and the coffee is always good (a little strong just how I like it) they have a good selection of cakes and slices

The service is ok but as it's a place "for the local" it can often take a while, I waited about 5 mins to order my take away coffee as the person at the register was talking to a local instead of serving me...

Will definitely give it another go in the future
