I was pleasantly surprised by this motel! The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with a comfy bed, seating area, and handy kitchenette. The bathroom was spotless and featured a relaxing spa bath and double vanity — a real luxury. Even the little details like a cleaning caddy showed thoughtful service.

The highlight was the Grilled Seafood Feast from the restaurant — generous portions and perfectly cooked.

Highly recommended for comfort, cleanliness, and a great meal!

The rooms are spacious and very clean. Sas a group of older ladies, the location was not the best for us as it is about 20 minutes over hilly terrain to the town.
However, as there appears to be no taxi service in Broken Hill, the lovely lady from the motel drove us down town & picked us up again after dinner. This cut into her off duty time & we were so appreciative.

I can't speak highly enough about the Hilltop Motel, especially after our challenging experience. After being stuck in Cobar Hospital for three days due to an injury, we decided to continue our journey to Adelaide for further treatment. We drove a long 5 hours from Cobar to Broken Hill and checked into the Hilltop Motel, where we were met with incredible warmth and hospitality. The staff and owners truly went above and beyond, accommodating us in every way possible. They were extremely flexible with our check-out times to align with our flight schedules, making a stressful situation much easier to handle. On top of that, they went out of their way to arrange a shower chair for me, which was a thoughtful and much-needed gesture. Their kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to help made our stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this place—it’s rare to encounter such genuine care and exceptional service!

Well priced, well located at the top of a hill , centrally located with easy access to town and surrounds. Modest rooms. Bettina Restaurant on site had great food.

Lovely little motel with such warm and friendly staff who went out of their way to help you, especially Michelle. Betinas Restaurant has the best steaks ever. It is a bit of a walk to town but downhill all the way. Recommend this place to everyone.

Our room was so clean and had everything we needed. The shower was awesome. I loved the aircon set up as it was not blowing on us. And the sink basin was such a practical solution. It was a shame we never had Foxtel but not a deal breaker. We only had one meal in the restaurant, but it was delicious and a big serve. There was a laundry and clothesline if needed. The weather was hot, and we used the pool daily. It was always refreshing, needs a little love but did not deter us. The staff were friendly and happy to help. I would recommend this motel to family and friends

We have known this motel since construction in the 1960s. The Wotif review reports guests raving about a delicious breakfast in the property's dining room. When I asked for the breakfast menu and for it be served in room, I was told "we don't do that anymore", and "There are plenty of places doing breakfast in the main street.” We have a nice restaurant!! We had a spa room, there was hair left in the spa. The pocket door into the bathroom was jammed open and could not be dislodged. Clearly this was not important to the owners, who did not apologize at any stage. My wife overheard the owner complaining loudly in a public area that I had the audacity to be displeased. She introduced herself to the owner – but no apology was presented for this rudeness. When we returned to the room the door had been pulled to the closed position, but it would not open fully without jamming. Not fixed, just forced closed, leaving a feeling that the owner had done so spitefully. We persevered with a half size door opening for the remained of our stay rather than deal with the owner. Parking is constricted, a high concrete step can damage correctly parked vehicles. New bedside lights and king size bed, but the GPO is behind the mattress and cannot be used. The outside furniture is old and decrepit. False, misleading and rude proprietors who do not understand hospitality. The owners are reliant on contractors, leisure travelers are clearly an imposition. We will not recommend this motel.
