What a great spot! Camping at Mt Gipps is excellent if you want to get the feel of Broken Hill! Big open red land, beautiful sunsets, funky looking cattle and an amazing host!

Facilities are good, camp kitchen in the old shearers shed gives you plenty of space with lights etc to relax at the end of a day of sight seeing. Toilets and showers are simple and clean. And there is plenty of room so even if there are a few others groups in you can easily look out over the paddocks and enjoy the serenity!

Sam is great, always up for a chat, keen to tell you about the station and life in the bush and more than happy for you to make yourself at home in her 'backyard'. Definitely recommend Mt Gipps to anyone who is looking for a place to stay a little out of town!

We camped here to break in our new caravan. We had a great time. Hot showers, toilets. Great camp kitchen. Beautiful views - Sun rises were gorgeous! Various lookouts to go to.
You can mingle with other campers of be left alone - entirely up to you.
Opportunity to camp in your caravan, tent, swag or stay in a cabin. Fire pit was allowed, if you don’t have any wood you can buy some at the station.
It is about 40km from Broken Hill - including shops, so make sure you have everything you need.
I would definitely stay here again.

Thanks Sam & family for hosting us - a mum, two kids and a dog at the Shearer’s Quarters. Our stay was a highlight of our outback NSW trip and an excellent base for exploring Broken Hill, Silverton and surrounding areas (not to mention the gorge & other places on your property). The kids loved making friends with your horses and hairy highland cows ☺️

This property is the place to stay!
A nice drive out of Broken Hill.
The hosts are sensational such a warm welcome and only too happy to answer any questions you have. Best showers, roomy kitchen facilities and dining room with two open fires.
Richard and Sam give you a tourist drive on there property which I would highly recommend doing.
This property has the ground sparkling as much as the nights sky.
We will be back again - we loved our stay.

Great location not too far from Broken Hill with lots of area to choose our camp area setup in. The owners are friendly and very welcoming with sharing their property and experiences. We appreciated being able to light the fireplace in the shearer’s quarters during our stay.

We arrived at the station stay on a warm afternoon. We drove to the camping area following the signs, and Sam, the owner, basically followed us in. She has a bubbly, infectious personality and made quite an effort to explain the layout of the camping facilities, and the property in general.||The amenities are the ensuite variety (toilet, shower, hand basin. all in one room), very clean, and the showers are hot with good pressure. The 'camp kitchen' is actually a house with dining room, kitchen, and open fires for the cooler times.||Sam's husband Dick was kind enough to stop in and have a chat with us about the local road conditions at the end of his working day, which we really appreciated. It is so nice to get the chance to talk to people that work on the land, away from the cities, and to get their views on the world.||Sam had also told us about several self-drive tours that we could do, and we chose the Sunset Viewing one. It was a good drive over some rocky climbs to get there, but the views were wonderful.||The sad part about staying here was that we could only afford the one night as we had pre-booked some national parks sites for the next few nights, otherwise we would have stayed longer. Well done Sam and Dick.
