We spent five days at Ella's Place and loved every moment.

- About the house: This is an old country cottage built in the early 1900s, fully renovated and equipped with all amenities while retaining the Edwardian decoration. The bedrooms have plenty of space, the shower and bath work well, and the TV rooms had everything we could want: as well-stocked as my own home in Sydney. While we did not have any kids with us, this house would suit families with 10-16yo children very well, even coastal city kids who've never stayed in an older country home before. The only (truly minor) negative we could mention is that only one of the two bathrooms has a toilet.

- About the location: a quiet lane in western Broken Hill, close to a servo and a good five minutes walk from a major shopping center with Woolies/Maccas etc. The town of Broken Hill turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It is doing much much better than the Central West towns we passed through to get there. We felt very safe, and everyone treated us very kindly. Rise early, since most "action" happens between 9am and 1pm.

- The history: we enjoyed learning about the people who lived there before, from Aunt Ella and Unc, to the first subsequent owners who renovated the place, and the current owners. It felt good to add our own brief page to this house's story!

- The owners: Great folks! Before we arrived, they explained everything clearly, and answered all our questions about the accommodation and about getting around in Broken Hill. We feel truly grateful for their help!

We hope to stay here again one day.

Quaint, quirky, a BH exper. Everything we need is provided. Great atmosphere. Further out of the centre than I thought but then, I have no idea of the area, first visit. Out for an adventure today.

A delightful 5 days experience.
The setting , provisions and historic decor made for a relaxing reminiscence of my childhood.

Our wonderful hosts made sure everything was first class . Their generosity and attention to detail was incredible.

Enjoyed 8 nights here at Ella' s Place. Everything that you need is here. The cottage has been lovingly restored and has so many special nic nacs around. The king bed was comfy n the air conditioning worked well thank goodness. The lane that it is in is a bit sad but just look past that. Would definitely recommend.

Really cool place to stay. 2 bedroom cottage built in 1902 completely renovated. Beautifully done up with loads of bric a brac. Owners are doing a great job keeping this place so well maintained. Come and stay.
