Location was good for access to Newcastle. Room was reasonably appointed and the desk was useful. Water view wasn’t as expansive as had hoped and construction site next door was a little off putting. Breakfast good. Staff helpful. Parking great. Would stay again -value for money and location was great.

I loved the hotel, pros - fantastic location- customer service- loved the restaurant/ especially dinner.
Cons- the hotel is looking a little bit tired & worn out- the bathroom needs to be scrubbed to remove mould around sink overflow & shower. The bed was really comfortable and we couldn’t fault the staff- they were amazing. Particularly the blonde waitress in the restaurant, she couldn’t do enough for us. We’ll be back.

A recent stay at the Novotel in Newcastle and would best be described as a 3-star experience overall. The rooms are simple and clean – comfortable enough but definitely nothing above basic.

The highlight of the stay was the food. Room service was exceptional – genuinely 5-star quality – and the breakfast staff were friendly, helpful, and created a really welcoming atmosphere each morning.

Unfortunately, the check-in and check-out experience was underwhelming. Staff lacked warmth and weren’t very forthcoming with even basic hotel information. As a first-time guest and a club member, I wasn’t offered any details or even asked if I wanted to join the program – disappointing and not up to standard.

Another letdown was the internet – slow, patchy, and not reliable enough to support WiFi calls or video chats. For a hotel in this category, it really needs an upgrade.

Overall, it’s in a great location and the food is genuinely excellent, but the hotel itself is pretty standard. If you’re after a simple, no-frills stay with top-notch meals, this will do the job – just don’t expect too much beyond that.

Great location right by the beach and friendly staff, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
The room was not clean — I found rubbish under the bed, hair in the bathroom, sand in the shower, and visible mould in the shower area. Very disappointing for a hotel of this standard.
Breakfast was extremely basic with no real taste or quality, definitely not what I expected.
Overall, apart from the location and polite staff, the experience did not meet expectations.
I hope the hotel improves in the future, and that next time the stay will be much better.

Good position with easy access. Underground parking. Absolutely no traffic noise. Had a wonderful night's sleep. No noise from neighbours. Wide hallways. Dual elevators for quick access. Well set out gymnasium with heated spa free for guests. Foyer has lots of glass and a good meeting area. It also has the restaurant in this area as well. Staff were attentative and efficient. Would recommend.

The room was comfortable & clean, the staff a great & extremely helpful. There was a staffing issue in Bistro (lack of staff) but I will address that with management separately. This was my second visit & I can highly recommend it more of a boutique hotel which is great.

Service was great and the staff were lovely and helpful. We were able to charge our EV with no problems. Location to the beach was wonderful. There were pests in the restaurant which I understand is pretty unavoidable so near to the beach but I think more could have been done to control them. The main disappointment was that the spa didn’t work and we had chosen the hotel largely bc we liked the look of the spa. I understand things break from time to time but it looked like it had been out of service for quite some time. Overall we had a great time and would be happy to stay at this hotel again.
