The hotel's prime location on Canberra's main street is a definite plus. My room, although small, was clean and included a water tank. The shared public bathrooms were also well-maintained, offering essential facilities and clean showers. The only significant downside was the noise level. Being situated along a main road meant that traffic noise was noticeable, particularly in the evening.

I stayed at the Canberra Accommodation Centre for two nights and had a great experience. The location was very convenient, close to public transport. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, providing everything I needed for a short stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out smooth. I would definitely consider staying here again during my next visit to Canberra!

For what it is worth, the hotel/accomodation centre is great, a room gets the work done (for the price, you should not complain), the location is almost perfect, with a light rail station just next to it. Moreover, the staff is really kind, responsive and really helped me, quite often.
However, there are of course a few downsides (and they are huge)...it has nothing to do with the hotel & staff, the main issues are the residents, unfortunately.

As a long stay resident, I often noticed how ill-behaved some residents can be. The shared accommodations (kitchens and toilets) are spotless after cleaning, but it does not stay like this for long because some residents seem to have some questionable hygiene, and have no respect for the staff's work.

Furthermore, some residents have absolutely no awareness of the noise they make, you might hear a vacuum cleaner at midnight, doors that are violently closed and people shouting/speaking loudly for hours, at 1 a.m, during a weeknight. It has unfortunately woken me up several times.

Overall, the hotel on its own (and the wonderful staff) is actually good, but some residents just ruin it...

Good location, just 2 minutes from Canberran light rail, not too far from the city centre. Super-friendly staff. Room clean, w/clean sheets and towels, but dated and a bit worn out. I couldn't figure out why windows were blocked in a way that only one of two could be opened and only on about 1/3 of its length. Kitchenette with tea/coffee, toaster and fridge on every floor. Lots of amenities on ground floor, including full kitchen, gym room, working spaces, nice, green courtyard. Would come back.

We took a big risk on booking at Canberra Accommodation Centre as it had shared amenities and that is something we are not too fond of, but we gave this place the benefit of the doubt as we came for Summernats, which is well known across Australia. We assumed this place was going to be decent as it was almost sold out when we booked. This was not the case at all. The staff were friendly but no directions were given as to where to park, where to enter the building and where the amenities were. This was just the start of it. As we found our way up to our room we walk in and are gobsmacked by the gust of hot wind coming through our door. We see a double bed, wardrobe, sink, tv and fan. The double bed is barely enough for two people to sleep comfortably through the night. Everything is crammed into the room, there is no space for our suitcases for us to comfortably move around the room. The TV’s stream cast system doesn’t work. The wifi will work for a whole of 5 minutes before dropping out and having to manually reconnect to it again (this is not an issue with our phones, it happened to a few people in the building). The bedroom was disgusting, the ceilings are cracking, dust everywhere, there were two power points in the whole room which are no where near the bed. There is no air conditioning, we’ve had 30 degree nights and layed in bed sweating as all we have is a fan which is no where near enough to cool us or the room down. Some nights we’ve had to sleep with the door open and windows to get more air into the room. On the first night we were looking for other places to stay in for the rest of our time here and unfortunately nothing was available. We had also found a finger nail under the bed which is quite disgusting (not my nail). The bathrooms were even worse, the floors were constantly covered in dirty water, hair all over the floor, mold. No bathroom mats as you step out of the shower. One morning I went to the bathroom and saw blood on the floor and wall of a toilet cubicle. Later that night I went in there again and it was still there which is revolting. Floors, roofs, walls and amenities were all dirty and gross, it doesn’t even look like this place gets cleaned. Our key cards didn’t even work half the time and our pass into the carpark stopped working after our second night. This place is feral and genuinely a health and safety issue, we will not be coming back to this place again and will be letting everyone know about our experience.

The room was cozy & clean. The communal bathrooms were clean. The staff were friendly & there is free parking. The location is central to the city however a car is definitely needed to explore the city. The overall external look of the hotel is not welcoming ( use to be student accommodation and very much still has that vibe) although cannot complain about the room & value for money. Certainly not a fancy hotel but good if you’re staying in the city a couple of night.

Great value for money. I had a basic, secure single room with card access and shared bathrooms. Spotlessly clean. The room had a sink, desk with good lighting, opening windows for ventilation. Lots of storage space if you are staying awhile. Free onsite parking with QR code access. Handwash provided in the room and body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. My floor had unisex, women’s and men’s bathrooms. A kitchenette on each floor with kettle, microwave, fridge, sink and detergent. Free tea, instant coffee and longlife milk sachets. Good location on Northbourne Ave. Small shop in the street behind for groceries and basic takeout. Quick drive to Dickson or Ainslie shops. Great views from the higher floors. Friendly and professional staff.

Service was excellent, the location is good but could be closer to the CBD, depending on what you're in town for.

Rooms are basic but comfortable for a family of 3-4. Would happily return next time.
