Well, we’re back again at Alivio Tourist Park — this time over the ANZAC long weekend! Our first visit was with the caravan, but this time we opted for a cabin as we were travelling with other family members. It was a pleasant stay overall.

The park had some great activities for the kids, including a scavenger hunt and late afternoon face painting, which they absolutely loved. We also took one of the park's e-bikes for a spin around Canberra — a fun experience, though the hire cost was a bit steep in my opinion.

The kids had a blast throughout the weekend, which is always a win. There are still a few areas that could use some attention — particularly the kids’ games room, which hasn’t changed in years and has some aging equipment. We also noticed groups of kids riding scooters unsupervised at night, doing burnouts and causing a bit of noise and smell, which was a bit disruptive.

The cabin, while basic, was clean and comfortable and still holding up well considering their age.

All in all, it was a great weekend, and we’ll happily consider coming back again for another family stay.

Really good place. Staff are friendly. Rooms clean and alot to offer guests. One thing that is the main let down is the on site restaurant. On paper the food looks good. In reality it was overpriced, low quality food. Night 1 I got the lamb shanks, it was disappointing. Tasted liked it was cooked a few days ago, it was tough and not good at all. The cous cous that accompanied it was delicious. My wife got the fish and chips. It looked and tasted like it was out of a box. These two meals and two kids meals cost over $100. Night 2 I ordered a pizza to take back to my cabin I then see the pizza maker rip open a pre made pizza base out of a packet. Now if I'm paying $25 for this it would be nice if the pizza dough was made fresh. So I would recommend staying here but not eating here

This place is the best, prettiest, well designed caravan park I have ever been to.
We stayed in one of the older cabins but that doesn't matter. The place is well cleaned and nicely presented.
The best thing about Alivio is the outdoor facilities, playgrounds, sports facilities (tennis, bball, vball, ping pong, foosball), pool, many outdoor dining areas that are scattered in the tourist park - decorated with beautiful fairy lights. They also have an edible garden with lovely herbs growing in them which we did harvest for dinner.

The park has everything you need including coin laundry and a restaurant onsite which serves all meals and coffees.

I told the reception about the things (wobbly table, door hinge missing screws, outdoor towel hanger falling off) in the cabin which needed fixing and by the time we came back in the evening, they were all fixed.

The cabin has a sizeable fridge, coffee tea sugar, kettle, toaster, oven, microwave, 2 sets of pots, a saucepan, a stainless steel bowl, a collander, cutleries, glassware, crockeries, cooking utensils, a very blunt chef's knife, a peeler, and chopping board,.

Located so close to the city, but has a total bush vibe, even saw a couple of kangaroos at dusk foraging. I had the best time here with the family! Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay here. We were in the newer cabins, they are more expensive however they are modern and fairly new which was nice.

Park has good parking and facilities like pool, spag play and playground.

The biggest let down is the restaurant onsite. It’s a sham, sells you a buffet breakfast for a set price but only provided half of the things listed. When I questioned them the staff just said “we don’t have it sorry”. I have reviewed the restaurant separately in more detail.

Set amongst a nature reserve, it was good to head back here after a day in busy Canberra.

I wasn’t expecting this to be a holiday park, but the location was perfect. However, as soon as we checked into our cabin, we found it to be average in cleanliness, with spider webs everywhere and German cockroaches all over. The bed sheets and blankets were also dirty.

On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a big smile. The restaurant was excellent, offering affordable prices and five-star service.

I understand that this park is in the bush, but they really need to focus more on cleaning and pest control. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if I would return to this park again.

We have stayed at the park three times now and our last experience this weekend was not pleasant. Our cabin was very grotty there was black hair and mould in the shower, I moved the side table next to the bed to plug chargers in and there was thick layers of dust and just to top it all off there was old blood on one of the bunk bed sheets, so my kids had to share a bed because no way in hell were they sleeping in someone else’s blood. (See pictures attached). When I told the lady at reception all she said was “oh sorry” you should of called the on call manager… sorry love but at 10PM at night I’m not sure they would be impressed on doing a deep clean of a cabin and have my kids awake till midnight while they cleaned. Such a shame but I don’t think we will be back again.

Good and fast service. We didnt get a dishwashing liquid, but we only stayed for 2 nights, so no big deal. Lots of amenities that kids can enjoy!

The park itself is nice. We are currently staying at a site with ensuit amenities, which is wonderful. Amenities are nice and clean. The park lacks of green though. There is lot of dirt/soil but no grass. So our kids are dirty all the time when they run around outside the camper. The pool area is very nice, pool itself is nice and clean. The restaurant area looks very nice, there are even toys for the kids to play at. WiFi is not good.
Don’t book the breakfast buffet though. There is not enough staff to manage the workload. Everywhere you can see tables stacked with dirty dishes, nobody cleans the tables. Coffee is not included in the high price, there are no fresh fruits at the buffet (just canned ones- like in a cafeteria in a youth hostel), there was no butter left after a while, nothing but honey and jam to put on your toast (no cheese or anything). They ran out of mugs half way through breakfast time. No muesli/granola, just two types of basic cereals. No kids cereals. Kids from 0-5 pay 5$, which is not much, but a baby (especially my baby, which is still nursing) will not eat anything from the buffet. The buffet lacks healthy food at all. Would not book this again.
