Sad not to be able to visit on the open days, Saturday and Sunday 10 till 2
But, it was still very interesting to see an original building from the 1850’s, or so, remaining and being cared for.
Also interesting that crops were still grown here until 1962, before there was a lake. So different now!
However, the views are still great, across the lake, out to the hills, and the modern buildings.

Lovely little historical stone cottage and a feature that overlooks the central basin of Lake Burleigh Griffin. It was built in 1860 to house Duntroons β€˜ploughman’. Restricted visiting hours but a good place to meet up with friends for a walk or jog or just a cuppa at the nearby outdoor Curios cafe.

Yep. Pretty nice park x the kids. It's small but has some enjoyable games and "rides". Something that drew my attention was the hydraulic bar lift. My children were amazed by it. Recommended!

Quite a small historic cottage adjacent to Lake Burley Griffin, with opening and tours on Saturday only (10:00 to 14:00).

Whilst the house and tours are only open and available on Saturday, we were able to see most of the inside of the cottage through the windows, given how small the cottage was. A few information boards scattered around the area, and a tour may be able to provide additional information about the cottage.

This place is only opened on weekends as it's managed by volunteers. It's a historic building with many things trying to give it a feel of the period and residents.

I went to this as part of the Heritage Festival; there was a market outside, and free entry to the cottage along with people in period costume giving demonstrations. It was crowded, but fun - not a place you'd want to spend hours, but worth a visit for sure. Free parking nearby and a decent toilet block outside. And lovely walks and views of the lake for free!
