You can't go past this for a good pub vibe. The atmosphere is excellent and service is fantastic.

When you take the family for outings around Gold Creek this is the place to stop.

The salad and parmi were not as nice as I would have expected (comparing to somewhere like the Kingston hotel) but prices are reasonable and it was still good food.

I found the wings surprisingly large for the price you pay and delicious.

The venue has great entertainment, games for kids and a good amount of tables. Some days you can't get a spot, I've made sure to call ahead.

Whilst it wasn't my favourite parmigiana, the menu overall is pretty good (I love the pie in winter).

Always a good time going to The George; good service, good food, good atmosphere. I'm yet to find a better pub in Canberra. I will travel up to The George despite living in the deep south.
Love that it's actually a pub, surprisingly hard to come by these days with all the clubs and RSLs.

Very good choice of beers on tap.
Restaurant serves up good food surprisingly fast, even when it's packed.
The decor is great, both inside and out, including inside and outside heating to get you through a night out in winter.
They also frequently have live music outside.

On my last visit I got the chef's special, Red Wine Lamb Pie, it was superb!

Quick, friendly and helpful service.
They have a good variety of beers and wines on tap as well as menu items - something for everyone. Menus are clear with drinks side, food side and prices listed.
A good atmosphere with dark timber inside and shaded areas outside to sit.
Garlic bread was great. Nice and soft with some crispy bits and a very enjoyable garlic butter flavour.

Absolutely loved the steak and Guinness pie here! The flavors were spot on and it was cooked to perfection. The vibe of the place is fantastic, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Definitely a great spot for a meal and drinks!

The atmosphere and service was fine. However, I ordered lamb roast and veggies from the specials menu and the lamb was not a nice cut - a significant amount of grizzle and fat. The portion was not generous and I walked away hungry. This is disappointing when you pay good money for a meal.

Overall a great experience. We enjoyed the food and local beers. We had their guiness pie? It was nice. It was very busy on Sunday but we found a table inside. Great staff and atmosphere.

Food is pretty average.
Specials are good.
Ordered a scotch fillet rare and it came out Medium Well.
Didn’t take it back as we were sitting rite up the back.
Chicken Schnitzel thin and crispy.
Salad $20 only had pumpkin onion green leaves. Not much else.

BUT! The venue is fabulous.
The staff are super cool and friendly.
The beer is cold and delicious.

And every time I’ve had a special it’s been tops!!

My family and I had dinner at the George last week. For entree we had the salt and pepper calamari and cheesy garlic bread which were both delicious. For main, we had nachos, chicken parmigiana, sirloin steak and the steak and guinness pie. My nachos were delicious, but my parents and partner weren’t wowed with their meals unfortunately. That being said, the atmosphere at this pub is awesome and I would still return, but would probably stick to the dishes on the ‘to share’ menu as they were the stand outs. I also have to mention the mulled wine which is a 10/10 in winter!
