While staying in Mole Creek, we asked our accommodation host for the best food in the area, and they highly recommended the famous lamb pies at Mole Creek Hotel. These pies are truly special—filled with tender, flavorful lamb and a blend of secret ingredients that make them absolutely delicious. They are made with love And the chef hand paints tiny strips on the Tassie tigers back using food safe ingredients amazing!
They sell out fast, so we had to order in advance after missing out the first day. Safe to say, we went back two more times after that!

But what makes this place even more special is something you won’t find just anywhere—a family of platypus living in the creek behind the beer garden. These platypus aren’t particularly shy, and you can quietly watch them go about their day, making for a truly unique and unforgettable experience. Of course, it’s important to respect their space, but seeing them in the wild is something that should be cherished.

Stopped by as we were visiting the caves and found this nice good old-fashioned Aussie pub Hotel the food was reasonable but a bit expensive on the normal sign grab the burger and chips. They were okay but you can’t fault it for being the only food place in the areawith a visit. Nice beer garden outside and service prompts with a great atmosphere.

Nice local spot where you can grab a good feed, a drink, play some pool and even sit outside and see a family of platypus in the creek! How cool?! Lots of stuff on the menu, I had the tasmanian tiger pie, pretty tasty!

Great place to stay before Walls of Jerusalem. Good value. Rooms were very clean and the pub meals are great. Doug the owner is a top bloke. Strong reccomend.

Had dinner here, roast of the day, it was nice but for a large ($27)
it was very skimpy on the meat, a variety of veggies tho which were cooked nicely . I was still hungry so had the gluten free choc pudding, freshly cooked in a cappuccino cup and served with ice cream and cream ($16) a really nice treat. The hotel was packed for the long weekend, the wait staff were fabulous, the service was efficient.
