Our resort room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. It is conveniently located to a golf course. Spa, sauna and heated indoor pool were clean and well maintained. Licensed hotel and restaurant on-site. Reasonably close to Devonport airport and ferry terminal.

Food in restaurant way below standard. Pork tacos tasteless. When we complained we got a "sorry" from staff.
On another night medium eye fillet steak was well done. We got another "sorry".
We dont mind paying premium prices if the food is good but not good enough here.

We were very pleased to have a dishwasher and more importantly a washing machine and tumble drier in our apartments.|We arrived late in the evening and the arrangements for collecting the keys were simple and easy. Registering with the reception staff the following morning was pleasant and they were very helpful, giving imformation about the local are and the surrounding towns and mountain areas.|We enjoyed using the Fairway pool and sauna and in the early evening it was not too crowded allowing us to swim lengths without upsetting others.|Whislt we are not golfers it was very pleasant to be able to walk around the golf course and to access the beach from there. For runners, the Port Sorrel parkrun on Saturday mornings is within walking/running distance.||Week 1. The 2 bedroom apartment was pleasant with a view over the golf course.|The second bedroom was fitted with 4 bunk beds, which was not really suitable for our adult daughter and would be even less suitable if she had brought her partner. There was no bedside table or bedside lamp in that bedroom.||Week 2. We moved to a 1st floor apartment for our second week which was obviously recently refurbished with much improved clothes storage in both bedrooms, unfortunately the second bedroom was still furnished with 4 bunk beds, but there were bedside tables and lamps in this one.|The master bedroom was much improved, particularly the bathroom facilities.

Rooms are a bit dated. But clean, big and views of the golf course. Indoor pool, BBQ's excellent. Restaurant meals are fabulous. Selection of wines, many Tassie wines. Tennis courts , playground. Shops, cafes across the road. Beaches and river close by.

We have gone to Shearwater for many many years. We always look forward to a relaxing and easy week of golf, swimming in the pool and at the beach, walks, cycling, bbqs and just chilling with family and friends. A week of pure relaxation. Apartments are very comfortable

Location great. Golf course looked good. Swimming pool was very popular and bbq area good. Great shops literally across the road. Rooms very tired. Bathroom vanity so low, constantly bent over. Toilet paper 1st roll complimentary. Great desk but no powerpoint for charging phones and cameras. |If planning a stay don't forget the toilet paper and extension cord.

Would I stay here again. NEVER||First of all we get put on the top floor right next to 6 units being renovated. We were told about the pool being renovated but not about the apartments. That was a lovely noise to listen to every single day while we were here. Hammering, drilling, grinding, tradies talking on their phones at the top of their lungs.||Then the apartment. Wow. So old. So run down. Yes they are renovating them which absolutely needs to be done. BUT they should not be filling these few apartments right next to renovations going on.||Now for inside||Bathroom has mould on tiles.||Toilet lid comes off||Fan covered in dust||Kitchen wasn’t cleaned properly. We complained about this 3 times.||1st time they decided to send the cleaners back to do a “deep clean” it was no different after they did this clean.||2nd time we were told if we could stay here they could send the cleaners back and we could direct them on what to clean!!!!||3rd time we ended up saying don’t bother it should have been done properly the day we checked in.||We had a frying pan that we could not use because it was beyond cleaning, cleaner came and gave us a new one, looked at the other one and just says oh I don’t know why that would still be there ( really) um because no one has bothered to clean it. We told her about the cleaning issues, she could not care less.||We had a toaster that was disgusting, took that to reception, gave us a new one. This was when they decided to do the deep clean.||We came back after that clean to still have tongs with dried food from who knows when. Saucepan with dried on pasta. Cups with coffee stains. Glasses that were dirty.||We ended up having to wash everything that we wanted to use. Something you should not have to do when you check in for a holiday, is clean before you start.||The TV is so old it’s not a smart TV but they have Foxtel. It’s a joke. They have the cheapest basic channels which is nothing.||News, weather and that’s about it. Every time we clicked on a movie or something worth watching, sorry you need to upgrade your subscription.||So when we wanted to relax at night with a drink and watch a movie that was impossible unless we watched it on our phones!!!!||Seriously I think with what they charge they can afford some movie channels on Foxtel.||The master bedroom has a double bed yet the spare room has a queen bed plus bunks.||The floor is heated with a locked box on the wall so all us naughty adults can’t touch it, but nothing to explain how this works.||The balcony.||We thought we would sit outside and enjoy a relaxing drink. Chairs and table were filthy. Again we had to clean them before we could sit out there.||The iron is useless. Spat out dirty water all over my new top that I then had to wash.||They charge you a fortune for membership then the vouchers. But if you need extra toilet paper, washing up liquid, soap you need to buy it from reception, every other place provides this free of charge, if you run out you just ask for more. Not here, you have to buy from reception or supply your own. We purchased our own roll of toilet paper only to find cleaning staff took it. When we enquired about the stolen toilet roll, oh I don’t know, was the reply.||They don’t do anything to make your stay pleasant and comfortable.||Don’t care when you complain to them several times. Are just not interested at all.||My partner spoke to the manager, after he was lied to and told he was not in today, once the issues were getting explained to this other person all of a sudden the manager walks out from behind the door, listening to the complaints and says oh sorry about that. There was no offer of a change of room. No offer of a refund. Not even a free meal etc.||Not that we wanted that. We just wanted to have a clean apartment to stay in. But he was not interested. Just making excuses, he was also the one that suggested we stay here for a day and direct the cleaners in what to do. ||Yes we received a new toaster. New frying pan. New iron. But we should not of had to complain about these items in the first place. They should have all been checked before we checked in.||Many locals around here have told us no one wants to stay here as it’s so run down and not looked after.||I have to totally agree. We will never stay here again. And never recommend anyone else to stay here. So very upsetting when you are looking forward to finally getting the time and money to come visit this beautiful stunning amazing place called Tasmania to be extremely let down by the accommodation you are in for 2 weeks.||This place is so very disappointing.||Returned our key on checkout. Was asked by reception how our stay here at Shearwater was. When told how very dissatisfied and disgusted we are in the whole place. She could not careless, same as all the other staff and management at this place.

Wonderful place with wonderful facilities. Close to the beach and not too far from downtown Devonport. Great place to base yourself and day trip to Cradle mountain, Launceston etc.
