I've been coming to this awesome place since moving to Huon a few years ago. I cannot understand the one star reviews going from theatrical to out right false things like new owners? But what do all the one star reviews have in common? No photos of the 'horrendous quality food'...

So here's some photos I've provided of the amazing curry dinners we had tonight same always amazing quality with lots of meat and big fresh cut veges less than pub meal for 3 people. Less than $60 for all this.

We had a very delicious meal. The prices were very good and the servings were quite large. We ordered soup each then 3 dishes and needed a couple of take away containers. Looks like our lunch is already prepared for tomorrow. Pleasant and fast service staff.

The lady who served was nice enough. The atmosphere was a bit bland. Not warm at all. The food however wasn't that great. I ordered to curry prawns, fried rice, wong ton soup and veghie spring rolls. Normally spring rolls you get a dipping sauce with like sweet and sour. There was non. The soup was average, the fried rice tastes like boiled rice with peas and bacon. No wok hay to it. The curry prawns curry was very weak. No heat or taste to it at all. Price not overly expensive but food needs some serious work on. Caucasians can handle heat on their food to. Just saying. 🙂

TL:DR- amazing meat portions, plenty of variety to choose from with fresh veges and price. Well rounded dishes that are not too much or too little with the flavour.

We've just moved from Margate and loved the local Chinese takeaway there and were excited to see there was also a local one for Huonville.

Love the huge selection of lunch specials always a good sign, service was very friendly and easy.

Clean inside, bright and looked comfortable.

Ordering was easy with a well set out and easy to read menu.

We ordered Mongolian combination, beef plum with special fried rice and BBQ Pork. We were blown away by the meat portions very generous for the price veges were fresh chopped and also had a good amount but I generally prefer to see more variety of colours with the veges but again if you are keen on meat you'll be satisfied here.

Mongolian was perfect amount of sweet with a touch of fiery chilli to make it interesting.

Plum was pleasantly sweet without being over the top and delicious.

BBQ pork was great with thick slices and sauce was thick, would recommend serving it on rice with the sauce drizzled all over.

Combination rice was just how you'd want it packed with prawns, veges, ham, chicken and pork.

Plenty of good warm food with even more for lunch left overs tomorrow. Food was cooked quite quick as well but we went not too long before close so had died down.

We were overall disappointed with China cafe. We had the satay chicken and beef in plum sauce lunch specials, dim sims and short soup. The staff were friendly and the food came nice and fast. The dim sims were crunchy and very meaty, but they needed a dipping sauce. The satay chicken was okay - nice Aussie style Chinese. The plum beef was way too sweet. There was a lot of veg which I was really happy with until I tasted it. It all had a weird flavor. I can't really put my finger on what the taste was. It wasn't pleasant though.

I can't remember what we had ordered but they are alright. I can't say they are the best chinese restaurant but it is good enough that there is a Chinese restaurant in Huonville.
The lady who took our order was very nice and attentive. So have nothing to complain about.

Very disappointed. Today I ordered, duck with lemon, chicken chawmin and chicken with sweet chilli sauce for takeaway. I waited for that around 45 minutes.After 45 minutes one of staff (girl) gave me my order in a plastic bag I didn’t open there beca I trust them but when I opened after reach my hotel I was totally surprised there was not that items which I ordered. I didn’t get chicken chawmin . I got duck but that was not with lemon that was with honey. I tried to call them but they didn’t receive my call.

I wouldn’t generally leave a negative review online, but as Chinese food is my all-time favourite cuisine, and this food was just so absolutely terrible, I felt it was necessary to inform other customers.
We ordered fried rice and a chicken dish, and it was inedible (we had to throw the food away after a few bites). The chicken was (it is difficult to find words to describe), but very unpleasant, the fried rice was boiled white rice with a few green peas mixed through (literally just a few!), it was certainly not fresh and seemed like it has just been heated in a microwave.
Sadly a very poor experience, we hope things improve as it seems to be the only Chinese restaurant in the area.
