They Should change the name of the meat pie to Gravy Pie,
Pie looked great but was just filled with a gloopy, glutinous gravy with a few bits of mince spread through it. The gravy was rank and tasted of bulk thickener. I guess with so much passing tourist trade they can serve what they want. I would have been better off with a servo pie. On a plus side the staff were nice and the pastry was fairly good, half of it ended up in the bin. I've eaten a lot of pies and this ranks as one of the poorest efforts.

As you do, you try the local pies when travelling through towns. The cottage pie at the Huon Valley Bakery did not disappoint! All at 1990’s prices! Thank you guys for providing quality food at very affordable prices 👌🏻

This little hidden gem is the bees knees!
The absolute best coffee and cold drinks. The frappes and iced coffee are a 10/10.
They make tons of amazing pastries, cakes and sweet treats and the prices are very affordable.
The service is ALWAYS friendly. I've never once walked away unhappy with any aspect of Huon Valley Bakery.

'Best vanilla slice I've ever had' - my 76 year old mother-in-law. It takes a lot to impress her.

The dairy free, gluten free sweet thingamajig I had was amazing too.

I bought the Curried Wallaby Pie 🥧
To be honest I couldn’t tell if it was Wallaby and the rue didn’t have any curry flavour. Pastry was a little doughy in the base as it was served in an aluminium pie tray. 3/4
I’ll go back and try the Cottage Pie next time as that looked nice.

A perfect little bakery we stopped at on our way from Police point out to Freycinet. I have never had a pie so perfect as the pepper steak pie I got from this bakery. Literal perfection.
Definitely recommend if you are south of Hobart and enjoy river drives. The scenery is absolutely wonderful.

The scroll here is absolutely to die for. The scroll itself is large with lots of berry (blueberry?) filling. It’s not too over cooked, still doughy and soft. The pink icing is to die for. If you’re into this kind of thing, it’s the best of its kind!!
Also, only $3.50… bargain!

Lovely staff, donuts were fantastic as well. I got a Curried Wallaby pie too that was amazing (aside from a large chunk of gristle). Will definitely be back the next time I'm on the island!
