Our family had a wonderful time at Button's Cottage. The cottage is set apart in lovely surrounds. The gorgeous bumble bees buzzing in the rosemary, the enormously fluffy sheep in the adjoining paddock, and the striated pardalotes nesting down the road were highlights. The house itself was lovely and clean. It has so much character too. It successfully blends old time charm with modern amenities. Alison is a wonderful host. She made us very welcome. It was lovely being able to cut across the paddocks to Alison's own garden to go looking for platypuses in their creek. Alison also went the extra mile in regard to making our stay a special one - loved the egg and bacon pies and the croissants. We would definitely love to go back.

It is so peaceful my wife and I had our 25 Wedding anniversary there and was amazing. Allison cooked a dinner for us which was magnificent. We had a week there and are looking forward to going again. To be able to see and feed farm animals was so great. We would recommend this place to everyone. Thanks for a magical holiday.

Buttons cottage was a beautiful farm house with lots of rustic charm and character. Great location close to walks and trails, with plenty of wildlife to see. Alison is knowledgeable about the local area and was very hospitable. Would stay again.

Buttons cottage was a very cozy and charming cottage, close to cradle mountain. My family spent two nights in this beautiful house that was well equipped, and thoroughly enjoyed it! The stars at night were amazing as well. Would love to come back one day 🙂

Buttons Cottage is an amazing place to spend a few days at.
The cottage itself is beautifully restored, but it has enough modern features to be comfortable.
The host is friendly and accommodating.
Whilst the cottage is relatively isolated, it is ideally situated to explore the region. There are day walks with in walking distance from the cottage (Castra Falls) and longer walks a short drive away.
You could set up at the cottage for a few days and use it as a base for exploring the region, and this is what we are planning to do ourselves later in the year.
We tried the trout fishing, but caught nothing. There are definitely trout there to be caught though.

One activity I made the most of while I was there was astro photography. Being so remote, there is very little light pollution. There is also a great Southern aspect, so, in ideal conditions, you'd be able to catch the Southern Lights.

We love this more than a century old farmhouse. Do not be deceived by its age. This house has modern facilities and is very cosy and comfortable. Network is weak here and Telstra works best. We used Telstra, Optus and Vodafone. The host is warm and welcoming.
