The rooms were spacious and beautiful. Decor elegant and tasteful. The sandstone, beams and textures in the rooms showcased history. We were greeted by the boss when we arrived. The staff were unobtrusive, which we valued. Beautiful and central space. We loved waking up to the markets all happening! Great few days. Thank you team Moss!!!

The Moss is located within an old sandstone building, right in the heart of Salamanca Square. Sympathetic renovation with modern amenities, character charm and luxurious finishes. ||There is no restaurant on site but there are heaps of options for all items of the day around. ||The hotel has a lively pub in the ground floor, but it’s so well insulated you can barely hear it once you’re in your room. The pub was busy at all times during our stay, with locals and tourists alike.

Fabulous accommodation, cosy rooms, comfy beds, very well appointed . Room is serviced and refreshed daily. Restaurants and Bars are on your doorstep. Short walk to ferry and tourist attractions. Salamanca Place Saturday markets are outside the door, lots to look at, food lovers paradise. Shopping is a 5 minute stroll to town. There is a fresh food/fruit and vegetable market/store a few doors up with everything you need. You can’t beat the location. Only downside is no parking on site, it’s a short stroll away and no room service. All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and accommodating . Would stay here again in a heartbeat .

My partner and I stayed for two nights and the pod room was just gorgeous!! We loved the greenery and rustic look. With modern technology in the room, it made it feel stay feel seamless. Bed was comfy, air cooled very easily and the cute apples were a nice touch. Big shout out to Tina who checked us out. She was super lovely and we had a sweet chat 🙂

My partner and I stayed for three nights. Pros:
Tastefully decorated in minimalist MCM style
Mood = relaxed and refined. However not enough light.
- bad for trying to find things in your luggage
Comfy beds, slept well
Customer service excellent
Great location (have ear plugs ready on weekends because it’s right downtown, late night scene)
Cons:
No hand towels which I found to be weird.
No discernible fan in bathroom
The only separation between toilet/bathroom and the rest of the room is a glass door (frosted) - uh- a little more privacy would be welcome.
No mirror at all outside the bathroom.
Did I mention the pretentious mood lighting?

The location was super convenient and in the heart of a thriving part of Hobart. The room itself was clean, comfortable and functional. The staff were really helpful and friendly. It was just a really cool place to stay and I’d definitely stay there again.

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at Hotel Moss.

Despite submitting a formal complaint to Hyatt, I have yet to receive a response.

During my stay, I encountered several issues:

- Broken Toilet Seat: The toilet seat in my room was broken.

- Poor Housekeeping: The room was dusty throughout my stay.

- Lack of Globalist Recognition: As a Globalist member of the Hyatt loyalty program, I was not offered any upgrade, despite this being a standard benefit. In fact, hotel staff seemed unfamiliar with the Globalist tier, referring to me simply as a "guest from Hyatt." The manager on duty informed me that they had never awarded any guests upgrades and even informed me he had a similar issue with a previous guest. It seems that with the recent Hyatt acquisition, the policies for upgrades will need to be reviewed with the team.

- Disruptive Housekeeping: Every morning, housekeeping staff were extremely loud while working, even in hallways where the "Do Not Disturb" sign was clearly displayed on neighboring doors.

- Unfulfilled Housekeeping Request: I requested housekeeping service at 12:00 PM and called down upon our departure from the room to ensure we would come back to a clean room. To my disappointment, upon returning to the room at 8:00 PM, it had not been serviced.

Positive Aspects:

- Friendly Reception Staff: The reception staff were friendly and acknowledged that the condition of the room was unacceptable for the price paid ($660).

- Excellent Location: The hotel's location is excellent.

- Comfortable Bed: The bed was comfortable.

- Welcome Gift: I received a bottle of champagne as a welcome gift, which is a standard practice.

However, the significant issues I encountered during my stay significantly impacted my overall experience and made it not worth the price.
