A historic B&B set amongst beautiful expansive gardens. We stayed in the charming double room which had an ensuite. I’ve never slept in a more comfortable bed! The hosts couldn’t be more attentive with Carol also a font of knowledge about the local area & Tasmania, in general. She also volunteers at the local Information Centre. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

I wholeheartedly recommend Winterbrook House. The host Carol was very generous and genuine, and went to great lengths to make our stay special. The rooms burst with old-school charm befitting the historic property. Carol also cooked us a tasty bespoke breakfast every morning, including some incredible waffles. Winterbrook House is a cut above most B&B places, and well worth seeking out. 5 stars!

Winterbrook BnB is a gem: a historic house beautifully renovated in style. The bedroom and bathroom provide luxury and modern facilities. The hostess, Carol served a breakfast cooked to our wishes to perfection, home-extracted honey, specialty jams, and told us stories about the environment, the town and Tasmania. This is a fabulous accommodation not to be missed. Highly recommended.

I needed a place to stay in Ulverstone, a town I am very familiar with, that gave me easy access to key locations but also a sense of being apart when I needed it. Winterbrook House gave me that as well as a sense of comfort.

Our overnight stay in an elegant 1880s building to the east of Ulverstone was a sheer delight. The hostess welcomed our call and invited us to check in at our convenience. A little after 2:30PM we drove into the carpark, admired the beautiful surroundings and the even more beautiful timber building. Wendy welcomed us warmly, invited us in and suggested that we take the rear bedroom with ensuite bathroom - to which we promptly acquiesced. The detailing and finish of the corridor and the rooms dedicated to the 'accommodation side' was outstanding: the lounge and the dining room were impressive. We looked forward to using both; we did so, with joy; equally, we relaxed in the bedroom with its comfortable mattress and winter warmth bed covers; we showered in a smart pentagonal shower cubicle, used the rich warm towels and appreciated the décor. Next morning, breakfast was a relaxed event with homemade fruit complementing cereal, and a range of homemade jams to lavish on three kinds of toast. The hosts chatted with us in an informative and interested way and we felt pampered and valued. This was truly a stylish BandB: we recommend it to discerning travellers who admire and enjoy a carefully created home-away-from-home experience that embodies a distinctively charming old-world charm.

Beautifully kept historical home, very comfortable beds, everything we needed for an enjoyable break

Weary from mountain climbing in Western Tasmania, I was ready for a great Bed and Breakfast experience and Winterbrook delivered. On arrival Tony gave a short explanation of the house facilities and Wendy provided an Ashgrove cheese platter with Riesling for the veranda outside our bedroom. The room was spacious, the bed linen crispy and the bathroom spotless. The breakfast in the morning was a great start to our day. If you are planning a stopover in Ulverstone to recharge the battery, Winterbrook is excellent value.

You are transported into the elegance of the 1800's. ||Ever detail has been presented with the caring passion of Wendy and Tony and their respect for the era and the comfort of their guests. From guest lounge room, dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms comfort and elegant meets you. We can't stop talking about every detail. ||Waking to the scent of roses entices you to stroll through their magnificent garden. |Now enjoying a great county continental breakfast by the fireplace. ||Definitely the find of our Tasmanian trip.
