The Glenbrook Cottage was a cosy and charming little self contained retreat set on a decent sized property. There were lots of things to wander around and my 2 year old enjoyed seeing the chickens and alpacas. There are forest areas for stolls and a hazelnut orchid. My son also loved Wayne who took time to help him feed the animals. The cottage has a comfy bed and a fireplace for when it is cold. Cereals, bread, spreads and appliances are provided and it has little extras like dvds, some kids toys, board games and books. The shower can be used as a toddler bath if needed and the owners were very welcoming of children. It is located 5 minutes out of Penguin in a valley. The road down is quite steep, but it is a pretty setting. We had a great time staying here.

Our first 4 nights in Tasmania (this trip) and such character in this old miner's cottage. Set in bush just out of Penguin it is well set up for self catering and is very comfortable - bed, bathroom, kitchen, wildlife etc - everything you could need. Breakfast was provided for self serving - lovely home made bread, fresh eggs, local jams and honey, milk, apple juice, butter, tea etc etc and two lovely warm muffins as well on our arrival. Therese was our hostess and was friendly and helpful. Ducks and pademelons on the grass outside the dining room with lots of Tasmanian bush in the background. Highly recommended!

Located slightly off the beaten track, this truly is the ideal accommodation for those looking for a quiet retreat. The accommodation was private, the bed very comfortable and native fauna and flora are well represented, along with various domesticated creatures. Mine hosts, Christine and Teresa welcomed my wife and I with a smile and a cup of tea both 'made in heaven'. They proved to be discerning and sensitive hosts who provide a choice of easy listening music and vivacious and convivial company. The words 'thank you' are inadequate and we shall most certainly seek accommodation here again should we return to Tasmania.

We stayed here for only 1 night, but it was so amazing and memorable stay. The room, the house, the garden, everything was beautiful and cozy. The owner couple was very friendly and kind. They showed us around the farm. We enjoyed to see their hazelnuts farm, apple orchard, chickens, sheep, lovely creek with ducks, and so on. We appreciate that they let us using their big kitchen to cook our dinner. The breakfast was great, too. We especially enjoyed local honey and bread from local bakery. We hope to visit the place again!

We were welcomed on arrival with a cuppa and freshly made muffins. Chris really set the tone for our brief visit. The room was large and very comfortable. The living and dining area was also generous and inviting. Our breakfast was wonderful and the chats we had with our hosts were most enjoyable. We would recommend this property to all!

Amazing place; the views, the animals, the cottage and most of all the hosts. One of the most generous and friendly couples I have met. Would stay again in a heart beat, could not have asked for more. Greeted with cake and a choir which was a lovely surprise for a birthday, this was shortly followed up with fresh homemade bread, fresh eggs, juice, butter, jam, marmalade and milk. Kitchen equipped with all you could need including tea, coffee, milo, cereal and all the other needed essentials. Watched the ducks, birds, alpacas and pademelons' for hours. We only stayed one night, I could have stayed a month. Sublime.

We have enjoyed the most fantastic relaxed holiday here at Glenbrook Cottage in Penguin. The cottage is well equipped with everything for a comfortable stay. Dog friendly and some farm animals to enjoy. Picking and eating the raspberries was yum. We hope to return and I recommend this jem to you.

Glenbrook Cottage is nestled in the bush just out of Penguin in a serene quiet location. Nature abounds in this tranquil setting and the accomodation is just perfect in a well redecorated 1900's cottage. Our host, Christy, was welcoming with fresh home made bread and biscuits.|If you are looking for some peaceful R&R then this is the place!
