Our two day stay was very relaxing at the cottage. This stand alone cottage is very pretty with amazing views of rolling hills with Mount Wellington in the back ground. The hosts were very helpful and gave us some good tips on local points of interest. We spent a day exploring the south western area down as far a Dover and found Margate to be a great base. It is only 20 minutes from Hobart and 10 minutes to the Ferry to Bruny Island. There are no cooking facilites in the cottage but plenty of places (restaurants or takeaway) within a 10 minute drive. ||My only issue was that we found the bed to be very hard. We are not sure if it was actually the bed or that we prefer something with a bit of padding!! ||Regardless of this I highly recommend this B&B.

A warm welcome was received both from the hosts and from the accomodation. The hosts had switched the heating and the cottage was lovely and warm. ||The cottage was clean and nicely furnished with lovely fluffy towels and in a quiet location but only 5 minutes from shops and restaurants. Hobart is only 15 minutes away so the cottage is an ideal location base for this area. ||Breakfast arrived beautifully presented all fresh and made with local produce. ||| |Great place would recommend. ||

I only had a few days but what a great time at Margate Cottage B&B! The view is amazing and the ||attention to details is outstanding. A real great place in Hobart! For a lover of Wildlife like me, this is truely a hotspot and also the activities around the valley are endless! Very ||comfortable mattress, flexible and charming hosts... I would recommend ||it to anyone visiting Hobart! I definitely will be back and this time plan a much longer stay :-)||Thank you guys!

A lovely cottage set in a classic hillside garden setting. The site has 180+ degree views of valleys and mountain ranges, including Mt Wellington. Breathtaking and charming at the same time. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Equally, our cottage felt very private as all windows faced out to the surrounding mountains. When we return to further explore southern Tasmania we will stay here again. Highly recommended!

Margate Cottage: highly recommended. The owners make every effort to look after you. The continental breakfast is plentiful with variety; all the touches in the cottage are done with care. Location: great if you have a car and want to do some exploring south of Hobart (which we recommend: Geevestown road out the the Hartz Mountains, or drive to the most southern point in Australia at Cockle Cree.) Anyway: highly recommended.

My family and I recently had a family wedding to go to in the Margate area and we were looking for 2 nights accommodation for 5 adults. I stumbled accross this one on the net and booked it because it was close to the venue, I didn't have high expectations because from previous experiences we have learned pictures can lie. ||I am happy to say we were pleasantly surprised, the two cottages were immaculate with every thing we needed supplied and so well presented. Our hostes were there for anything we wanted but never intrusive, the surrounding views were amazing, the setting very tranquil. The cottages were so lovely I just wanted to pack them up and take them home, we can not recommend them high enough. Do your self a favour and experience the hospitality of these cottages.

Beautiful traditional cottage with spectacular views. Very quiet location. Superb breakfasts delivered to the cottage in a wooden crate. Only wish the weather had been kind to us! We would have loved to have stayed longer but were going over to Bruny Island.

A large bathroom adjoins the bedroom. The cottage is furnished in a charming country style.||||Staff: Pleasant and helpful.||||Parking: Outdoor, on-site.||||Food: A generous breakfast box filled with seasonal local produce is provided.
