Extremely disappointed with the service and value at Bellerive Yacht Club. I booked the venue for my daughter’s 1st birthday party and paid for catering for 50 guests, but only 40 people attended, and yet the grazing table was so small and poorly presented that I had to go shopping myself during the party to supplement it.
Despite reaching out multiple times via email asking for an explanation, I received no response at all. For the high price they charged, I expected a much better standard of service and food.
This was a special event for our family, and I feel completely let down. Poor communication, overpriced, and under-delivered. I would not recommend this venue to anyone planning a meaningful event.

My friend intended on having her wedding reception here, she was super excited! A special, once in a lifetime event! After issues with site tour day and time, with staff not being available, then asking for a refund of the deposit as her invitation list exceeded the capacity of this venue. (Which agreed upon loss of deposit has changed throughout this time) It’s just been a nightmare for her, and her husband to be- do not recommend holding a function here.

Our experience with Bellerive Yacht Club was incredibly disappointing due to poor communication, misleading information, and inconsistent pricing.

We waited over 35 minutes for our initial venue viewing and left due to not being able to get into contact with anyone, with no explanation until the following Monday, when we were told the staff member had a sick child. This set the tone for the rest of our dealings.

At our tour on 3 November 2024, we were told a $150 non-refundable deposit was required, covering a club membership and deducted from the total cost. Based on this, we completed a membership form (never provided a copy) and paid $750 to confirm the booking.

Later, when we asked for a refund due to the venue not being able to hold the capacity of people required, we were told the deposit was actually $250 and they would be withholding that, even though we were originally told $150 was non-refundable. This was not listed anywhere in the terms and conditions which I asked them to provide proof of the price change that was agreed upon, this was never provided. Their website lists membership as $170, contradicting both the $150 and $250 figures we were given also.

Despite being told we’d be refunded $600, only $500 was returned. I repeatedly followed up, requesting the terms and conditions outlining the changes, as well as the original documentation that was never provided—but we never received either, nor any further response. The $500 refund went against what was originally agreed upon and I'm still yet to receive any follow up email from Bellerive Yacht Club.

This experience was unfair, unprofessional, and legally questionable.

Even though Google maps doesn’t show there is a cafe -there is! Our Uber driver recommended it! Scallops and chips are delicious. Can’t beat the open air picnic tables or the indoor dining hall with room for 100 +

Fabulous location overlooking the moorings and docks in Kangaroo bay. Friendly staff, good food and reasonable prices.

Wrongly accuse patrons of being drunk and incorrectly using RSA policies, not showing any consideration, then proceeding to provide no evidence and nothing but utter disrespect to the people around them. After emailing, an inappropriate response was received showing the lack of empathy. Not good enough from management. Lost many customers.

I took my friend to the Bellerive Yacht club today for her Birthday we both ordered crumbed scallops. Only one meal came out as the other order didn't go through to the kitchen so I had almost eaten mine when my friend got hers. An apology was made but spoilt the birthday vibe as we went out together to eat together. The scallops weren't cooked very good, were tiny hard balls, seemed like packet breadcrumbs and nearly cold when we received them!! So poor that a chef can't cook Tassie scallops and obviously they buy the cheap small scallops!!. We won't be returning!!! Felt ripped off and disappointed!!!
