Gilston bay is a lovely hidden bay on the eastern shore of the river Derwent opposite of mount Wellington unfortunately not treated with respect by the soccer players on Saturday morning who left the public toilets in a bit of a mess.

Saw my grandsons school St. Cuthberts undertake their annual cross country!. Plenty of parking, care needs to be taken given young children often walk on the rd.

There is a lot to like about GB. BBQ areas, a kids playground, plenty of space on the oval for sports and beautiful Foreshore walks in either direction
