A great small theatre in a unique location; the quarry from which the stone was cut to build many of the sandstone buildings of the precinct now visibly forms the back of the stage. The acoustics are surprisingly good if the actors project well, and there seems to be sufficient in the way of lighting to create all manner of effects in this intimate performing space. Seating is well tiered for decent visibility, with wheelchair space available.

Quaint theatre provides live entertainment. Named after William Davidson Peacock the owner of the historic jam factory: 1889 -1976, that occupied this site and later renovated into the Salamanca Arts Centre & Peacock Theatre.
Located near the Tricycle Cafe & Bar that has tasty food & hot cold drinks. Public toilets nearby.

Most shows sell out.

Gorgeous old theatre in heart of Salamanca...because of it's size it makes you feel like you are participating with the artists. Musical Theatre Crew Intermediates performed 'Frozen' and it was absolutely fantastic.

The performance space is built in to the surrounding rock face making for sometimes visually brilliant staging. The bar stocks a small but excellent range of drinks. The toilets are off site and the venue occasionally has issues with external noise intruding on performances.

What a brilliant expression of a huge problem in society. Written so sensitively and acted superbly - a story that should be heard and seen by everyone. No wonder one of the biggest stages in the world New York rated it so highly!!

Well worth a visit in Hobart. This charming and small performing arts venue oozes charm with the natural face as a permanent backdrop for the stage.
