This is the best-maintained hostel Iโ€™ve ever stayed in. The staff are incredibly lovely and kind. The shared bathrooms were always spotless.

Thereโ€™s also a cozy and fancy bar right next to the reception, where guests get a 10% discount. Plus, the gorgeous friendly dog Nala is a delightful bonus.

If youโ€™re a solo traveller, this is a much better choice than a generic boring hotel.

This place made my days in Hobart even more wonderful. Iโ€™ll be definitely coming back here for the next visit.

the cafe is great! So many couches and chairs and plants, enjoyable ambiance thanks to the choice of music, the coffee is delicious and jimmy is a great person to chat with!
They donโ€™t offer any food, just some snacks. More options would be nice ๐Ÿ™‚
Highly recommend for a chill and relaxing time

Insanely cute budget hotel with vintage styling in a good location. We had a twin room with shared bath down the hall and it worked out perfectly. The bar is beautiful too - would be great for happy hour. The fan in the room was so appreciated.

The room is clean and well-organized, with all the basic amenities provided. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean with hot water available, and the air conditioning works well. There are no issues with noise, making it a great choice for those who spend most of their time outside and need a convenient place to rest and shower. The location is good and easily accessible, offering great value for the price.

Interesting hotel, clearly a lot of care from staff is taken. Shared bathrooms, common room and small bar stock. Would highly recommend as a unique stay in Hobart.

I'm annoyed with myself that I have never been here before. I attended during their Friday happy hour and drank a couple of tasty negroni cocktails, priced $15. Inside was cosy, retro themed I'll definitely be back with others.

Delightful stay here last night as visiting the City for a show at the nearby Odeon (The Church). Have had an eye on this hotel for some time now. Greeted warmly by staff from the moment we arrived (Celeste was front of house, and later fixed us up our happy hour cocktails). A fine negroni, and an awesome spicy paloma. So good we squeezed in a 2nd before the clock ticked over. Yes, there's no TV and you do have to share a bathroom with fellow guests, but all facilities are immaculately clean, the bed's are comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower good. The hotel is quirky, homely and centrally located. So much character and fun art. Reasonably priced too; a great hotel at almost hostel price. Check out was sorted efficiently by an affable, personable young man with a large, friendly dog. Thank you, Alabama.

We stayed for two nights at Alabama. Very simple but clean rooms and shares bathroom facilities which were also clean. Very friendly staff, especially good girl Nala. It was nice being able to relax in the very comfortable and beautifully decorated retro lounge, bar area. Very convenient having barista coffee for the morning and bar for the evening right outside your door. The location was the best though, you're right in the centre of Hobart.
