This hotel is truly beautiful! If you are looking for a historical building with the most stunning views and a fair dash of luxury then this is the place! All the staff we met could not be more friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating! Everyone made our stay just so easy and enjoyable! Shout out to Monica -Duty Manager… you are the best and we thank you for the room you allocated us and the recommendation to The Old Wharf Restaurant in the MacQ1… food was to die for!||Well done to everyone at The Henry Jones Art Hotel! #nailedit||Ps; the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in!

We had stayed at the Henry Jones Art Hotel several times before, and this time booked for 3 nights prior to our flight to Sydney.||We arrived by car, and the valet parking service was very good and reasonably priced, enabling us to arrive directly in front of the hotel. The reception staff were excellent and very helpful throughout our stay.||We had booked, directly with the hotel, a Deluxe Spa Harbour View Room and it was exactly as we expected and as shown on their website. The room featured exposed beams and stone walls and had excellent views of the harbour. It was comfortably furnished and had sufficient storage space for our short stay. The bathroom was excellent, located in a modern "pod" in the room, and had both a large shower and spa bath. The translucent glass walls of the bathroom took some getting used to but the quality of fittings was high-end.||The hotel's IXL Long Bar served great drinks and the bar staff were really friendly.||The only disappointment on this stay, and hence my rating of 4 instead of 5, was the change to breakfast arrangements. Previously, breakfast was served in a room across from reception and consisted of part buffet and part à la carte, and we really enjoyed it. Now breakfast is served in the Jam Packed Café in a covered area at the back of the hotel, which is also open to the public. The food that we had was poor and the service slow, the buffet section is no more, and for the room rates paid we would expect better. We did pass on our feeling to the reception staff whilst there and they apparently had received other similar comments. Hopefully things will change, but we will check before we consider visiting again.|||Overall we had a very enjoyable stay, despite breakfast, and hope to be able to visit again in the future.

We had three nights in a harbour room at this fabulous hotel. The location was outstanding. We could walk to Salamanca, exploring the city streets and sites and plenty of fantastic eateries and bars. The staff at the hotel were excellent, but a big shout out to Haley who made our stay special. She gave us the warmest welcome we've had in any hotel and took great care of us for our stay. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for one night, the lovely Hayley at reception gave us the best experience, taking us to our room on arrival, moving our car to the valet parking, and placing our luggage in it while we were having breakfast, this alone made up for the price. Our room was nice but didn't seem to warrant the high price, everything apart from tea and coffee was to be paid for including the bottled water (which you don't want to drink for city tap water) so suggested they give bottled water to customers, also needs a milk frother for the coffee machine too please. It had a lovely view from the room, would be better for thicker glass to stop some of the city noise though. The included breakfast was amazing, we didn't go to the restaurant for dinner as there wasn't much of an option to eat. It was worth the one off stay for us, especially with the amazing service from Hayley.

A truly funky hotel that has tried and succeeded in taking a 1870's jam making factory and turning it intro a lodging. The quarried rock walls are exposed, the old woodwork remains and attempts made to light by electricity are mostly successful. Right smack dab on the Hobart waterfront, 3 blocks from downtown shopping and 4 blocks to the art district. Tons of really great restaurants and coffee shops just right there. Tour pick up across the street. Scenic harbor views. Access to miles long bike path with an option to ride over the Hobart Bridge (too scary for this dude) for another miles long bike path by the coast. Saw absolutely no homeless anywhere near hotel and the area is clean - Tassies have higher standards there then we do in the USA. Staff are super helpful. Never ate in any of the on-site restaurants but the morning to go coffee was excellent. Rooms are very clean and for us, big as we stayed in waterfront facing rooms where the view is spectacular. The art part is not a plus; the art is ok but local amateurs mostly, too much of it, poorly lit, poorly displayed and clutters up the place. Stay here and just rent a car for a few days to get up to Cradle Mountains otherwise this is your base. Cons are poor lighting, especially in the rooms (bring your flashlight) and lack of plug in your your devices. Beds are pretty downscale for this class of hotel . Plenty of closets and space for your gear.

We stayed here as a family with two small children and were hoping for a peaceful and restful environment. Unfortunately, this hotel turned out to be anything but quiet.

One evening, we found a note in our room apologizing in advance for a “small event” that might cause some noise. In reality, loud music was blasting well into the night, making it absolutely impossible to sleep until 11pm

The soundproofing in the hotel is extremely poor — we could hear everything from outside. If the hotel hosts such noisy events, they should either invest in proper insulation or clearly state this in advance. It is completely unacceptable to sacrifice the comfort of paying guests for parties

If you value your sleep and are traveling with kids, I strongly advise against staying here

I had wanted to stay at the Henry Jones for a long time and was looking forward to my stay. I booked a Deluxe Spa Harbour View room through Qantas Hotels. The description of this room type was "Rooms overlook the stunning harbour front of Hobart framed by the cityscape and Mount Wellington. These rooms feature original walls of stone and timber trusses, columns and beams that soar upwards to just beneath the roofline." The photos depicted a room matching that description || I specifically selected this room type (and paid a substantially higher rate) based on the harbour views and heritage features. ||||Upon checking in, I was therefore disappointed to say the least that I was allocated a room with a view of the building across the road and no heritage features whatsoever. The room got progressively narrower towards the harbour, and where windows might typically have been, there was a wall. There was a small balcony surrounded by buildings on either side, so it was dark. The net result was 50% of a harbour view, 50% of a room (as the photos show, the room only had space for one sofa versus the two in the advertised photos), 50% light, and 0% heritage features. As other reviews note, there is 100% live music into the early hours and 0% soundproofing. The room was actually vibrating well into the evening.||||Looking at the hotel website, I see a small disclaimer that "not all" the rooms are as described. That disclaimer was not provided by Qantas Hotels. So it is definitely a case of buyer beware. It does beggar belief that you can get away with charging so much for a product that is so inferior to the description and photos.

Outstanding service and fantastic location. We were too early for checkin so left our bags and were asked if there was anything that needed putting in the fridge which was a nice touch. T2 tea and coffee pods supplied. Car was waiting out front on checkout without even asking. Recommend to get a room on the harbour side.
