Spent 4 nights at the barracks had a wonderful stay . Simone the owner greeted us on arrival ,then checked up 2 days later to see if we required anything it's these little things that makes stayovers pleasant.|Stayed in the retreat and is certainly is named very well. |So warm and cosy , comfortable beds ,slept like rocks every night extremely quiet.|The accommodation was very clean and everything was provided in the kitchenette which is so handy and very thoughtful .|The barracks is within walking distance to all the attractions in Richmond.|Thankyou Simone for such a relaxing breakaway it's a credit to you .

Excellent place to stay with family .. awesome and very kind and warm hostess. the cottage rooms are delightful , very homely , comfortable and catered to all our needs.. All in all a 7 star treatment and especially the kids enjoyed the games, Google mini and the Duck feed. We all loved the Retreat cottage and Richmond town.. Would certainly be coming back next time..Has to be the way to celebrate family milestones.. ||Thanks very much Simone for making the first leg of our 10th Wedding anniversary trip memorable ..

Simone was a helpful and kind host. The cottage was immaculately cleaned with everything we needed. Lovely extra touches such as duck food for the kids. Excellent location, easy flat walk to main street. My family of 4 had a wonderful 2 night stay and would highly recommend the Barracks at Richmond.

Stayed here for two nights in the Retreat. Very comfortable. Large well equipped bathroom with shampoo, soap and conditioner. Bedroom was large with great mattress and plenty of blankets and doona. The kitchen had everything you need with a couple of couches and table and chairs. Good TV, games, books and DVD player with movies. Great stay. Warning that nothing is open Sunday night and the IGA closes at 5pm. Thanks Simone

My husband and I stayed in Lady Esther at Richmond Barracks for Dark Mofo. The accommodation was great, very large space over 2 levels. brilliantly equipped kitchen. Simone, the host was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. It's a 4 minute walk to the cutest town, lovely shops and cafes and the food at the pub was great and open 7 days a week. IGA supermarket is good. We couldn't fault this place. THANK YOU SIMONE!

We turned up without a booking and was immediately welcomed by the owner, Simone and shown Lady Esther Cottage, a beautifully restored self-contained cottage. The Barracks is a small affair with just the three accommodations, so it is quite peaceful. ||||The two-bed-roomed cottage had a little garden and was situated on a quiet road within walking distance of the village centre. The kitchen was well equipped and suited our overnight stay. There were even instructions on what to put aside for their worm farm for later collection.
