Our 4th blissful visit to this delightful Homestead on pretty rural acreage. We love the old world charm of the Heritage suite which is extremely clean & comfortable. The bed & pillows were just right. Plus a kitchenette with breakfast provisions. The host Garry has written many books which we enjoyed reading on the deck overlooking the pretty garden & mountains! Bliss!

My boyfriend and I recently spent 1 night at Crabtree House and we will definitely be returning. ||Crabtree and its surroundings are breathtaking. We stayed in the loft, which is surprisingly spacious. The bathroom is absolutely massive and so unique. The bedroom was super quiet all evening and the bed was very comfortable. ||Garry and Anna are delightful hosts. They have the perfect balance of being helpful with their knowledge of the local area whilst also leaving guests to enjoy themselves and relax. ||The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a huge terrace with BBQ overlooking the stunning views that Grove has to offer. All rooms were very clean and stocked well with everything we needed. ||Thank you Garry and Anna!

My family of 8 recently stayed at Crabtree House over a long weekend and we absolutely loved our stay there. The 19th Century property has been beautifully renovated over the years, updated with modern amenities yet it hasn't lost it 1840's style and appeal. The gardens are lovely and the location in upper Huon Valley is perfect. Just a short drive from Hobart, the property is surrounded by beautiful landscapes yet very handy to the local country towns. Garry and Anna were able to accommodate all of our special requests which was very much appreciated. Totally recommend a stay here. Thankyou Garry and Anna.

Gary met us on arrival and was extremely welcoming and a pleasure to spend time with, also a widely published author! The cottage was warm and inviting, with full catering facilities and a range of awesome local bread, spreads, real tea and coffee, lovely balcony and views and despite being mid winter was not cold at all. We are locals in the Huon and wanted a more handy travel distance from Huon Mid Winter Fest. We even came back early to spend more time in the accommodation. Great bed, lovely heritage pieces all about the place, modern bathroom. Will recommend to interstate family and friends. We will stay again. Even though this is a Heritage property it is still modern in feel due to the amenities and facilities but it has that wonderful 'olde world' charm. It has it all. Throw in the friendly dogs, native critters and the bustling creek below and you feel like you are in another world. ||Thank you Gary and family.

We spent a lovely weekend at Crabtree in the Heritage suite.|The rooms were just as pictured with tasteful renovations, beautiful furnishings and discreet modern touches. We loved the river outlook and the gorgeous greenery surrounding the house. Garry and Anna were lovely and welcoming. Breakfast needs were supplied. A terrific spot for a peaceful, relaxing retreat from modern life. (Great log fire for the winter which unfortunately we didn't get to use as it was summer! Can't complain about the sunshine though).

Crabtree Cottage The Heritage Suite is at the rear of the main building with private terrace. Garry made us feel welcome in his quaint and quirky home. Creaky floorboards and we could hear the residents above in The Loft but they place is very old. Ten minutes drive from Huonville. Large comfy bed and large bathroom. One living room. The webpage says you can cook your own dinner. Not easy as the kitchenette is a corner of the room. One single element. Large electric pan which we never looked at. A microwave. One tatty pan with no lid and no seive to drain our pasta. Breakfast was adequate. We appreciated the port! We accidentally left a box of booze behind but Garry saved it for us to pick up three days later. Thank you. Thoroughly recommend The Block restaurant in town for a special meal and the information shop was very helpful.

Crabtree Cottages are located at Grove - a few kms north of Huonville (which has good shopping & cafes etc)
The pair of cottages are just a few metres from a lovely babbling stream which comes down from Mountain View. Ours had a largish lounge dining area with a wood fire and comfy lounge chair. A small but adequate kitchenette & small dining table for two.
Bedroom and ensuite are fine with included ammenities.
Nice little deck for the good weather
Theres an electric heater to quickly warm the place up.
They include a wee dram of (cask) port and a couple of choccies.
Terrible Telstra reception in the area and the property doesn't have WiFi and I think they should think seriously about installing it.
