My friends and I booked out both cottages. We want to come back during summer and sit in the rivulet with a drink 😊
We came down for Willie Smith's last winter festival. As we were drinking, we had to book a southern taxi service. Easy done.
My friend's cottage had a heat pump, but no working heater in the bathroom. I had a wall heater in the lounge, and a working heater in the bathroom. I thoroughly enjoyed the spa 😁 My DVD player didn't work and I could only access about four TV channels.
So it seems the higher priced cottage has the heat pump and good TV with all the channels, but no working heater in the bathroom. Doesn't matter in the warmer months.
I'm still wanting to come back due to the location though.

|This cottage was a gem ! Clean, comfortable and in an idyllic setting - a great place for a quiet getaway. Overlooking a very pretty river. The host, Joanne was extraordinarily helpful - would definitely recommend.

Stayed for 2 nights at the end of our 25th wedding anniv trip to tassie. Lovely cottage. Had wood fire but not enough starter sticks for 2 nights. Also took a long time to heat cottage. Spa was nice but took forever to fill. Bed was comfy but only 1 flat pillow each. Had breakfast provisions with 6 eggs and 4 bacon eyes for 2 days, extra bacon would have been nice. Ample juice , bread and milk. Few choccies with nice port.

This cottage was spotless, thoughtful and full of good vibes. The sounds of the river was beautiful at night time too... The owners were very helpful and assisted us with all of our requests. They did however forget to leave matches for the fire so it was lucky we had a lighter in the car! We also thought 2 bits of bacon per person was a little cheap too .. but overall this cosy little space was a great place to spend a romantic night a away for 2 locals 🙂

The owners live in the co-joined cottage next door while lovely people it's anything but private. On our first day they mowed the lawn out the front from check in 1pm until 7 at night. Then that night there is a water pump outside the bedroom window that has no curtains mind you. It turns on and off through out the entire night resulting in very little sleep. Very disappointing experience. Oh the free breakfast would have been great had the bacon and eggs actually been in a refrigerator that was turned on. We didn't bother staying the second night 🙁

Crabtree River Cottages are in a beautiful location and we were looking forward to staying. We arrived the night before a big snow dump on Hobart, so it was quite cold. We were rewarded with a snow covered landscape the next morning. However, we let our hosts know we were arriving a bit late..no problem, the door would be left open for us. ||On arrival..not a single light left on..so stumbling around in the dark, on a gravel path to get to the cottage, then to find, that despite the cold, the cottage was absolutely freezing. No one had bothered to turn the heaters on, or light the fire!!! How poor..as the owners were in warm Queensland, we discovered, they clearly didn't care. No one seems to love the business!! Won't be staying again.

After travelling down from Devonport after getting off the Spirit of Tasmania at 6.30am, and sightseeing all the way down,the cottage was very relaxing and a sight for tired eyes. We stayed in the Emily Cottage which we found was well catered for, breakfast included, wood fire & spa most inviting. Have recommended to family and friends what a great place you have.

Lovely cottage with excellent facilities, great fireplace and nice spa, very comfortable bed. Helpful and welcoming host. Nice private grounds with gorgeous river running past. Will definitely stay again.
