Eagles Nest Retreat - West Kentish, Tasmania

Not even a single star. This is my first review on a social media platform, as I wanted to raise a strong warning for other guests who may be considering this accommodation, especially those who are looking for a relaxed and secure place to stay.
First and foremost, I must highlight that the main entrance was not locked – the manager claimed this decision was made to facilitate a seamless check-in for guests, but this lack of security is totally unacceptable.

I booked a stay with my family – my elderly parents in their late sixties. When we arrived at the property around 8:30 pm (completely dark outside) and were about to park our car, we were confronted by a shirtless man walking towards us, asking if we were lost. My family and I were really shocked and terrified. I was certain I had booked this property for the correct date without errors. The man claimed that he had also booked this place and suspected a double booking. He asked us about whether we had another place to stay for the night; otherwise, he would have to leave with his girlfriend since they lived in a nearby town. I tried repeatedly to contact the owner using the number shown on Airbnb’s website, but I could not reach her. Meanwhile, that man was also trying to reach the owner/manager and was eventually able to speak to them. They discovered that they had misread their booking dates and had arrived a day early. We were suspicious and unsure whether the man was making up a story or had genuinely made a mistake with his booking date.
Fortunately, he agreed to vacate the property; however, when we entered the house, we found that some food had already been consumed, and more troublingly, the towel in the bathroom had already been used. My family and I could not sleep all night, frightened by this dreadful encounter.

I strongly do not recommend this property due to its severe lack of security. It is unacceptable for a place that charges such high rates to be so poorly managed. Leaving the house unlocked is a major failure. If the owner had taken security seriously and provided us with a passcode prior to our arrival, we would not have had to face this awful situation. Again, I absolutely would not recommend this place and wanted to say that it has been the worst experience I have ever had while travelling with loved ones.

We absolutely loved our stay at Eagles Nest - there were so many lovely and thoughtful touches..

The place is stunning, private, with jaw dropping views! It was spotless and sooo comfortable.

Everything was prepared so beautifully and ready for our arrival - the firewood and fireplace, outdoor jacuzzi, fridge stocked with essentials..

It was difficult to leave..

We spent 10 days over Melbourne and Tas for our Xmas holiday 2024, the best part was the 2 nights at Nest 2, we were amazed by the view and nature surrounding. It would be a lifetime unforgettable experience for all of us.

And we went out to see the Milky Way and stars at night, we were soooo lucky to see southern aurora !! Took hundreds of photos, it’s best gift for New Year’s Day!

Highly recommended luxury accommodation in beautiful region of Northern Tasmania. We had an outstanding short break for 4 nights at Eagles Nest III. Comfortable, warm, quiet, clean, safe, wifi, incredible views, access to two amazing chefs for in-house restaurant quality meals, lovely food package and treats on arrival all combined with a noteworthy attention to detail. Excellent timely communications with property manager who was extremely helpful. Just over an hour from Launceston Airport makes this venue perfect for a couples brief escape from the mainland cities.

We arranged a special night as a surprise for our daughter who had recently turned 50. Along with her 2 sisters and myself we stepped inside to a beautiful warm room overlooking magnificent Mt Roland and amazing countryside. It was so wonderful to have breakfast provisions and extra goodies supplied in the well equipped kitchen.
We also lit the fire for extra warmth and ambiance, which was brilliant after we enjoyed the warm outside spa before wrapping ourselves in the plush bath robes that were supplied.

So cosy and welcoming!! Had an amazing stay at Eagles Nest 2 with family. Loved the outdoor spa, the robes, the decor and scrumptious breakfast goodies. A magical overnight stay for all of us on a cold winter night with wine and fireplace…. And to wake up to a beautiful, blue sky with that view! WOW!

We had such a relaxing stay in this piece of paradise! The outdoor spa with the exceptional lake and mountain view was definitely the highlight of our trip. The house was very well appointed with ample room for our family of 5. The open fireplace in the main bedroom beside yet another spa was a luxury!!

I arranged a surprise 3 night heavenly package for my partner's 65th birthday over the Easter break 2024. We had chef Cynthia come and cook for us which was just superb. Our accommodation was amazing. The treats supplied were an added touch to our holiday. We didn't feel the need to leave the serenity of Eagles Nest 3 while we were there. We soaked up the beautiful weather. Enjoyed the amazing outdoor bath, indoor spa, wild life, birds, views of Mt Roland, fire pot outside, hammocks, roaring fire inside and beautiful surroundings. This would have to be one of the best places to spend a special getaway to chillax and unwind from the day to day hustle and bustle of life. We have been here before, hence my choice to return. Amazing place to stay. Highly recommended. 10/10 in every way. Can't wait to visit again. Luv this place 💕
