We stayed at Ashbourne house for the first time in Nov 2013, for a week, and really enjoyed the property. It is self contained accommodation with everything one could want – with so many little extras to make it even more comfortable. Owners Kathy and Tony are friendly and helpful and keen to make one’s stay pleasant. Location was quiet and green. Property is in fantastic condition, with lovely ornate ceilings and fittings, everything is in good working order. There are plenty of different areas to sit and relax, both indoor and outdoor.

Ashbourne House is a comfortable Queenslander in original condition and attractively furnished in the style. 2 bedrooms and excellent beds. Plenty of good quality kitchen equipment. Helpful and informative hosts who were most welcoming. In a quiet street with many neighbouring native trees that surround. Near a good direct bus line into the central city Queen Street which takes about 20 minutes from the door. We are retired over age 65 and used it with no difficulty every day for easy access to the City, riverside and South Bank area. Large useful shopping area nearby with supermarkets, cafes, take-aways and restaurants. Why would you stay in a poky, expensive hotel room?

We felt at home immediately we arrived at Kathy's lovely Queenslander house. She has paid so much attention to detail in the restoration of this delightful 1920's home which features airy casement windows all around and wonderful, ornate ceiling roses and cornices. Kathy has carefully recreated the atmosphere of the time in her furnishing and decorating, while at the same time bringing the kitchen and bathroom up to fresh, contemporary standards. She has thought of everything; there is every little thing you might need for a comfortable stay and Kathy and Tony were most welcoming and readily available to answer any queries. The house is situated in a beautiful, leafy suburb, a short drive to the shops, an easy, pleasant drive to the city or river and just a few minutes walk to bushy parkland. We found Ashbourne House very clean and attractive and would not hesitate in staying there again when we visit lovely Brisbane. We also can't complete this review without mentioning the wonderfully comfortable bed! Thank you again for a most enjoyable three weeks stay.

We stayed at Ashbourne House last year and again in October this year and it was perfect. We also stayed for a few days at Kathy's other property in Dovedale Cres. which was just as good. Kathy's hospitality takes some beating and she always helps as much as she can. Its so peaceful and the beds are so comfortable. ||My favourite part is having a cup of coffee on the veranda early morning and listening to the choir practice from the primary school across the road. Listening to them sing 'Waltzing Matilda' and then the Australian national anthem was just magic.||||I would recommend Ashbourne House without hesitation and I just hope we can make the trip again someday. ||Thanks for everything Kathy!

This has to be the best B & B I have stayed in, no question. On arrival staff were very polite & helpful nothing was too much trouble. After a guided tour of the house, pool and grounds we had the pleasure of meeting Chris the owner, what a nice chap. The room was immaculate & again faultless. Breakfast again met the high standards the owner and staff clearly set themselves, the large breakfast area was a real winner. I could not recommend "Ashboroughs Farmhouse" high enough. Once again thank you to Chris & the staff (My apologies I forgot your names). Ian. L

All facilities from wireless to own separate access to B&B. Breakfast supplied in advance leaving guests selfcontained throughout. Kathy and Tony accessible any time if needed. Restful and calm with great veranda and modern shared living area layout/kitchen facilities. I stayed at the annexe in Dovedale Crescent with superb walk in shower and spacious room. Didn't need it but on street carparking available in residential neighbourhood.

A beautiful 1920's home stunningly renovated and decorated in style. The host was very welcoming, the breakfast was delicious, the beds were super comfortable and it was refreshing to wake to a happy and laughing Kookaburra chorus. Hopefully we will be back!

If anyone is planning to make a booking it may not be honoured by the owners. My wife and I spoke directly with the owners, 4 weeks before, to make a booking for 3 days in July, and were assured the booking was in place. On check in day we phoned forward to let them know we were on our way and the owner told us the booking had been cancelled and the house was no longer available. When asked why we were told that we had not emailed them or phoned them to confirm the booking. No attempt was made to contact me. It is our opinion that a longer term booking was substituted for our booking.
