We choose this place to celebrate our life!
We are from Gold Coast end we’re in Mackay for a friends funeral.

We decided to have an amazing food experience that reminds us of our family gatherings as we live far from our families outside of Australia. Best choice ever!

This dish in the picture is a large Spaghetti Bolognese and it was certainly a large portion as my wife had the regular and the difference in size is very noticeable. The quality of food was very good but not the best and delivered to our table in good time. We also had a Garlic Bread starter (no photo) and that was very nice too.

The service was polite and friendly with zero faults there however the restaurant is in need of a revamp as it's a dull and dated which doesn't help the atmosphere.

We will definitely be going back again to try some of the seafood dishes they have on offer too.

Same high quality food every single time we go there. I am going to go way out of my comfort zone and try beetroot risotto next time . Love the food and staff. Make a booking, don't expect to walk in . I eat there with best friend who is a vegan coeliac and I am a coeliac. So good.

We have lived in Mackay for 18 months and never tried Sorbello’s until tonight and on my god we have been fools! The food and services is by the far the best in the city and the desserts are to die for. The wine list is extensive and boasting of many great named brands and some unknowns. We will be back many more times that we are sure of. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Read the reviews on the net and went for dinner while passing through Mackay. Have no idea what the fuss is about. It was fairly poor Italian, if you've had Italian in Italy or know what good Italian is. This at best poorly homemade food.
While the presentation of the food, service and atmosphere was very good, the taste was just not there.
Ordered gnocchi in pesto sauce and a pizza. The gnocchi as well as the pesto tasted like they were from a pouch from a supermarket. The flour of the pizza was below average and the sauce base seemed like a novice has made it.
All in all very poor experience as far as the taste of food goes 🙁

We had the worst experience at Sorbellos yesterday. There was a WORM 🐛 in my Spagetti chilly prawns. When we brought it to their attention, the owner/manager (old looking guy) returned with the same plate, downplaying the issue. While I understand mistakes happen, the handling of the situation was disappointing. He was mentioning that the WORM was in the garnish and it’s okay to eat? SERIOUSLY? I was about to vomit. 🤮

Other than that the risotto chicken Marsala was looking like dog food. Disgusting looking. I have attached video as proof.

We also ordered lamb pizza but it was alright and the customer service from other staff was also alright.

We can understand that these are extreme situations yet, well-established restaurants like this should know how to manage these types of issues- not returning with the same plate asking to eat it. Common sense Food hygiene

Also on the side note, I saw in the bill that they didn’t charge for the spaghetti and the two drinks we ordered. (Didn’t mentioned that to us taking the responsibility, we just saw this after leaving the restaurant)

Never ever recommend this restaurant to anyone…. 🤮 worst ever attitudes and worst in Mackay
