A Gem Revived in Esk!

The recent change in ownership at our local bakery has truly been a breath of fresh air for the community. The new team has done an above-outstanding job of not only revitalizing the bakery but also bringing a whole new energy to Esk.

The range on offer is simply incredible—something we haven’t been used to here. From fresh, beautifully crafted pastries and bread to innovative and mouthwatering treats, there’s something for everyone. Their commitment to quality and variety is evident in every bite, and it’s clear that they’re passionate about what they do.

It’s heartwarming to see the bakery bustling with happy customers, both locals and visitors. The new owners have created a space that’s welcoming and vibrant, breathing life back into the area and giving people yet another reason to stop by Esk.

If you haven’t visited yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. Support this fantastic local business—you won’t be disappointed!

Decided to give them another go today after the first time we went they were out of pies. Walked in. Only had 2 vegetarian pies left and a quiche. On a Saturday morning of a long weekend. Really disappointing as we’ve been keen to try but we won’t try again. Very odd given the town is such a hot spot. Staff were also borderline rude when simply politely asking what they still had available.

Just paid $8.20 for a loaf of whole grain sourdough and it tasted like it’s 3 days old. My husband chucked it out. Rang shop who advised bread is made elsewhere and delivered to store at 4sm each day. Disappointed with the price and quality. Won’t be back. New owners apparently.

Good old fashioned bakery!

The atmosphere was very much a country style meetup spot, that the locals flock to for a chinwag and a bite!

We had the Beef, Cheese & Bacon pie which was big and homemade! It had great flavour and I would definitely recommend the Esk Bakery & Cafe!

Friendly staff, good bread and surprisingly one of the best pies we have had. Even better than the fernvale bakery (in our view) who blatantly advertise that they have the best pies in Australia!

Pies were pepper steak and I’d be keen to try others when we next visit.

Bought a pasties and the pastry was sooo soggy ,and horrible and whats even worse it was barely warm, perhaps put in a microwave first driving down the road I actually had to abandon my pastie and it was donated to nature.
I phoned them and advised them of the condition of my pasties and never even got a explanation or apology.
