The deck overlooking the ocean is wonderful, and an excellent place to relax. The staff are really friendly, too. ||This hotel came highly recommended by a friend who’d stayed in one of the Oceanside rooms, so we had high hopes. ||Unfortunately, the older units overlooking the golf course (or at least the one we were in) aren’t in great shape. ||There was a bad smell in the bedroom that was probably associated with the visible water leak in the ceiling detracted from the experience. ||While the bathroom and kitchen had been renovated in the last few years they weren’t super clean. ||The floor in the unit could have done with a good mop, and the curtains had visible mould and embedded grime on them. ||Since we stayed in the busy end of year week there wasn’t much that could have been done, and it was doubtful they’d have had any other rooms to move us to. ||I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but for the peak price we paid this experience was pretty disappointing. ||Again, Oceanside rooms sound great. But the older units on the golf course side? Hard pass, sadly.

Friends recommended Don Pancho Resort to us. We stayed for a week in mid Feb 2025. Our rooms were on the top (4th) floor looking onto Kellys beach. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom OK. We enjoyed being able to walk out onto and along the sand, to bathe in the nearby rock pool, and enjoy the view from our balcony.|Local places to eat were good, the Golf Club Tapas menu is especially good. The Don Pancho provides good value. It is recommended for young families - not so good for the elderly as the climb from the beach (or to the 4th floor) can be taxing. The staff are friendly and very capable.

I stayed for one night in one of the renovated rooms. The hotel is really nice and cozy. The receptionist was lovely and helpful.
There is a beautiful pool and you can walk straight from the hotel on to the beach.
Undercover and street parking available.

Would highly recommend.

We went to Bundaberg to see the turtles hatch. Unfortunately, the tour was cancelled because of a risk of severe thunder, so we had to stay another night. The first night, there hadn't been any available rooms with an ocean view so we had one of the others, which was fine, but the next morning, we went to the reception to book another night. Not only did they get us an ocean view room (which was absolutely fabulous), they ensured we could stay in our first room until the new one was ready, so we didn't have to go somewhere for a few hours. This was particularly convenient for us because we had to work during the day. The turtle tour went through that evening, and we got to see 139 beautiful hatchlings emerge from the sand and go to sea. Mon Repos is about a 10 minute drive from Don Pancho by the Beach. Very very friendly staff.

Great pool, parking and beach access. Complex seems to be getting renovated so be aware when booking. New rooms look great from outside, but older rooms while serviceable are a little tired. Well situated being a short walk to cafes and hotel. Overall happy with the stay.

The check-in was super easy after hours. We stayed in an executive queen room which was newly renovated. It has a small kitchen with fridge, microwave, toaster, water boiler and sink. The water is drinkable from the tap. There is a small living room with a sofa, tea table, large TV, a table and two chairs. From the living room you have view and access to the pool area. The bedroom has a queen bed that was confortable to sleep and the bedroom has a sliding foor to a large toilet/bathroom with two showers. Behind the complex is the sea. To get to the beach you need to descend steep stairs.
