We loved this hotel! The staff was welcoming and helpful. The rooms were clean, large, and nice and new looking. Room service was great with only a $3 service charge. We had to leave early in the morning so we were able to arrange breakfast to go boxes to pick up at reception. Highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here recently on a quick overnighter when passing through Cairns, waiting for cyclone Alfred to pass Brisbane.

The room was well-presented, modern, clean, and tidy. However, the gym was very poxy and lacked ventilation. It felt like an afterthought, jammed into a shoebox.

The guest laundry room was a disgrace. There was no ventilation, and the dryers emitted steam into the space. It was also manky. Yuk.

Ate dinner from the restaurant by the pool. The steak and veg were solid. The steak was a decent size, tender and cooked as ordered.

I would go elsewhere if you need a decent gym or laundry facilities.

Room was clean well maintained, location was pretty good. Only Avenue of improvement would be to change the breakfast buffet around more but quite happy all the same.

Our flight to Sydney was unexpectedly cancelled, so we booked the Sheridan Motel.

However, we mistakenly arrived at the Sheridan Hotel. After realizing the mix-up, we made our way to the correct Motel, but that turned out to be a huge mistake. The place was disgusting.

We lasted only an hour before deciding to grab an Uber and return to the Sheridan HOTEL. The man Sebastian? Stephen? at reception was incredibly helpful, especially since it was already 10pm.

Upon arrival, we were relieved to find the room spacious, sparkling clean, and equipped with a bath. We had a restful night, ensuring we were ready for our 10am flight the next day.

The level of service here, particularly from the reception and cleaning staff, truly stands out. They deserve more recognition for their efforts. When we return to Cairns, we’ll definitely book here again instead of Riley.

Merry Christmas!
Thanks again!

This hotel was part of a package that we had paid extra money for a luxury 4.5/5 star hotel. This hotel is NOT 4.5 stars even though booking.com gives it that rating or even 4 stars as other agencies rate it. If your are a tourist in Cairns this hotel is NOT for you. It is 3 km from the CBD, their courtesy bus doesn't operate any more, so be prepared to pay up to $18 each way in a taxi to visit the CBD where most tourist attractions are. Breakfast is very basic with a limited selection. But of main concern was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. (see attached photos) We had to move rooms as we considered the mould on the floor was a risk to our health. The baths in each room were also dangerous, with no non-slip mat in them if you were showering and for older guests very difficult to get in and out of. The room we were then given was not much better and located on the main highway north hence very noisy. While the hotel states that it has recently been upgraded, hence the 4/4.5 star rating, there were still some older appliances left behind (see attached photo) We had to stay here as the tours we had paid for as part of our package were scheduled to pick us up here. |Very disappointed. Moral to the story DO NOT rely on star ratings!

We were late arriving, which I had notified the property of. When checking in the guy at the desk was not the Aussie welcome I’d expected. He was short and dismissive. We left quite early the next morning and the same person ‘Russell’ was on reception and showed little regard or gratitude for our stay. It felt as though we were an inconvenience to him us being there. The room itself was pleasant.

Great location. Our stay was overnight as we had an early flight back to Brisbane. Comfortable room, friendly staff who organised an early taxi pickup, and restaurant on site.
