The bed was fantastic. Regrettably we had to move on after the first night because although the sixth try the internet wifi let us in, the following day we both had lots of zoom meetings, and as the landlord wasn't able to assist us to solve the problem we dared not risk the same problem again. So we just saw the money paid as a loss and found another place.

Booked for a 6 night stay for early Sept 2021 for 4 adults @ 2 apartments. Allocated Unit 11 on the upper level street frontage, bright and airy, clean and surprisingly quiet with little street noise.
However Unit 6 on the ground level (rear) with the garden and pool view whilst the living areas were clean with all facilities functional, the state of the bedroom proved a disappointment for 2 of our team.
The tracks to the wardrobe were thick with grime and dust build up. There were dried brown yellowed liquid splattered up the wall near a bed cabinet and thick dust build up around the entire wall skirting and carpet which was very obvious the area had not been cleaned in months.
This was the only negative to our stay.
Villa Vaucluse is central and is easy walking distance to local attractions, the esplanade, night markets, cafes, hotels, restaurants and central rail station. It provides for secure car parking remote gated and a BBQ and pool area. We had little interaction with staff other than text messaging.
Overall, we would definitely stay here again as location, security and price outweighs a little dust and grime.

The Apartment is near the CBD & walking distance to cafes, restaurants.|Free undercover parking ( need to pre-book to obtain car park remote control) |& free Wifi with very good reception. We stayed in Room 6 for 2 nights & Room|5 for 1 night. Our apartment was a good size, with separate bedroom & lounge|area. It was very quiet as our balcony faced the garden & pool. The apartment |has everything you need. However the furniture, drawers, cupboards,|floors all need a good clean up & dusting. The shower curtain had lots| of mould. There is no room service & for most of the time there is no one|at the Reception. You need to contact them by mobile phone or email.

Decent accommodation, feels very Italiano. Reminded me a bit of a hotel in rural Italy. Very quiet, I had a room facing the pool and was really nice overlooking the greenery and pool. The rooms aren’t serviced unfortunately and for an extended period of time it’s a bit rough to have to do sheets towels etc on a per night room rate. Max at reception is very nice and helpful.

Very affordable with all amenities provided. All you need is food, everything else is there. To add to that, the property is situated in prime location. Walking distance to basically anything and everything you could possibly need in terms of service in the Western world. Unfortunately I did not visit the pool so cannot comment. This time of the year is cold anyway. Cleaning is one time, any additionals need to be payed. The owner's of the apartment are kind and understanding as they allowed me to reside for 2 nights while sorting Visa Card issues.

Decent rooms and decent location. But other than that you’re on your own here. No cleaning. You must pay for toilet paper. And the the pool is absolutely filthy. It hadn’t been cleaned once in the 6 nights we stayed.

Also, despite the cleaning fee we paid, we were expected to clean the dishes before we left (which we are happy to do) but knowing that the guests before us were responsible for the cleanliness of our dishes is unsettling. You never know who had the room before you, and upon learning this info we remembered just how nasty some of the glasses and plates were. We had to do the dishes before we could even use the dishes.

Basically, whoever owns this place is lazy AF. Don’t be fooled by the word “Luxury” in the name. It’s neither a villa nor luxury.

PS If you have allergies, be sure to clean the AC unit filters. I had the worst allergies of my life until I cleaned them out. It was pretty damn hideous.

My first bit of advice is to not arrive after desk hours, because the instructions to open the key safe are incomplete and confusing. I write this because I am not optimistic that they will be changed anytime soon, since when we mentioned this issue to the bleary-eyed on-site manager we had to call and wake, she stared at us like we were dim.||||Second issue was the sofa bed. I have slept on plywood that was more comfortable. I thought about just sleeping on the couch, but it was too short to make that an option either. Ideally, there would have been two twin beds in the apt., but that was not to be.||||The Wi-Fi was horrible. Half the time it didn't work at all.||||Otherwise, the apt. provided everything we needed. It was dated and needs a major remodel, but for the time we were there, it was fine. I do think asking guests to take out their own garbage is a bit unnecessary, as is the frugal allotment of toilet paper and laundry detergent, but we just found a market and stocked up, so again, it was fine. The washer and dryer in the unit were awesome. Also, it would have been great if there had been recycling in the complex and/or the unit.||||Location was great, central to all the happenings around town.

This is a self service type place in every sense of the words self service. Which is not a bad thing. We stayed here as a family for 4 days.Washer/dryer within the apartment,full kitchen as well. Cairns is very small so this was walking distance to everything around.You are your own housekeeper as this is a self service apartment, so you are required to throw out your own trash.I was ok with the place up until check out. Brought all our luggage down to reception at 8:30am. Checkout is at 10am someone should be at reception. But no one was there. Waited 10 minutes constantly ringing the bell by the front counter, then searched the premises, garage and outside to find someone but no one was there. Finally I CALLED the hotel number where the hotel phone started ringing right behind the visible glass partition and wow what a surprise someone comes through the closed office door to come out to answer! I then hang up my phone and the girl looks at me and realizes it was me trying to call.Clearly this girl was hiding in the office ignoring the bell,ignoring the voices of guests just outside the door trying to check out.Now I was already upset as we had a half day boat cruise to catch and running late from this check out attempt. I hand the keys back and ask if we could leave our suitcases until 2pm when we would be back to pick them up and head to the airport.The girl says NO She will be there until 12 but after that she has places to go and things to do. That 12pm would be the latest we could be back to pick up our bags. Ended up having to drag our luggage around town, on/off boats and the beach. Worst hotel service ever. Nothing I have ever experienced. I’ve stayed in $5 a night hostels with way better service and attitude.
