Mid City Luxury Suites - Cairns City, Queensland

Well located just opposite the Myer end of Cairns Central shopping centre within a few minutes of bus stops, the railway station and Rusty's market. No more than a 1o min walk down to the esplanade. This isn't going to excite folks who want to be on the esplanade for a few nights and be in the centre of things but is a good bet for a long term stay for business or similar. There is no real "view".|Suites are clean and well presented, furnishings are a bit dated but otherwise clean and comfortable with a decent sized kitchen area compared to many other accommodation options. |Plenty of parking in a secure car park under the building (but not underground).|Minor grumbles include only having 3 of anything in the kitchen (means that you are constantly washing up), the cooking surface only has 2 rings and takes some getting used to but there is a full size oven.|The out of hours service for check ins and support is an utter waste of time.||"Luxury" seems to me to be a stretch too far but for a longer term stay where views are less important that cleanliness, comfort and facilities I'd say this is a good bet.

This was our first visit to the mid city luxury suites, check in was very good apartment was scrupulously clean, kitchen was well provided with all amenities necessary for our stay.
The bedrooms were very spacious and clean and the bed were very comfy.

Amazing place to stay. Clean tidy everything you need Close to the shopping centre places to eat Markets train station. Excellent customer service these apartments contain everything you need it’s always my first check to see if it’s available if I’m in cairns

Areas obviously haven't been cleaned in years.
Pray nothing falls under the white goods.

Confirmed bookings were refused and half our party has to find alternative accommodation. Staff on the phone were rude and not interested in resolving the issue.

Staff were not in attendance during opening hours.

Recently stayed for 4 nights. Good sized room, comfortable bed. Near shopping centre which is good as apartments are self-catering. Easy walk to nearby cafes and restaurants. Esplanade is within walking distance. Only drawback is kitchen is a little tired and could do with a makeover.

Great stay, we were greeted by the owners and they made allowances so that we could check in early which was fantastic.
The rooms were exactly as advertised and perfect for our family's weekend in Cairns. The apartment was clean today and self contained.
The location is fantastic and close to everything, we walked just about everywhere. Thankyou we will definitely stay again next time were in town.

We had a short break in Cairns on our journey to Cape York. Mid-City Luxury Suites lived up to our high expectations. The apartment was compact but was well equipped and had everything we needed for an independent stay. The bed was comfortable, aircon worked well. The shower was a little tight but water flow was good. Wi-Fi was ok. We appreciated the undercover secure parking. The pool looked inviting but we didn’t have time to use it. Location is very central with a big shopping centre just across the road. Late checkin worked well. On the downside, the apartment is starting to show its age and the kitchenette working area was very tight.

'Luxury' is not how I would describe this accommodation, even the owner commented it should probably be removed from the name. Late checkin was quite easy. First impression was "oh, no lift" had to carry all our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Upon entering the room "okay, it's very dated but kitchen seemed clean", although we didn't stay around long enough to really find out. The shower recess and ceiling was hard to get past, if I could post the photos I would. Very dirty glass, bottom of shower and mouldy ceiling. Bottom of doors falling apart I assume due to water damage. Pillows were shocking, filling lumpy and scarce. After a bit of an uncomfortable discussion with management, we paid our 1 night stay and checked out. Spent the following 5 nights at true 'luxury' apartment on the wharf. Great week in Cairns.
