Simply don't go

My recent experience at The Star Casino was deeply dissatisfying. I was unjustly banned without explanation, and despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, I received no reasonable justification. This lack of transparency is unacceptable.

Over the years, the casino’s quality has declined significantly. Prices are excessively high, games feel less engaging due to card shufflers, and buy-ins are unreasonably steep. The atmosphere is outdated and far from luxurious, with mediocre food and uninspiring entertainment.

While customer service is polite, it’s overshadowed by broader operational issues. Additionally, I observed unusual handling of large sums of money, raising concerns about whether proper anti-money laundering protocols are being followed. Transparency and integrity are crucial, and I hope authorities are monitoring this closely.

I cannot recommend The Star in its current state. The poor value, declining standards, and lack of transparency are deeply disappointing. I hope management addresses these issues to restore its reputation.

What can I say, when you arrive you are greeted with class, an amazing designed building, which is not quite finished and the finishes are to an extremely high standard, the staff are absolutely amazing and are very friendly helpful and ensure our stay was enjoyable. The room my wife and I had was a river king and this room was amazing with the perfect view, the room was spotless and very spacious. The hotel is still in phases of construction and the pool, gym and spa facilities were not available, however this did not spoil our staycation. We had breakfast and the first day was not to our standard, however the Sunday it was and was beautiful, again the staff were absolutely amazing ensuring our stay was to our standard. The location of the hotel was perfect, and only a short walk across the bridge to South Bank, and a 5 minute walk to the queen mall.
The staff make this place amazing, and I hope the future of the hotel is safe and we keep this amazing hotel. We dined at Babblers on the sky deck and have visited previously on numerous occasions. The food as expected was amazing and again the staff ensured the food and service was to our standards. Thanks you so much for making our stay amazing and will hopefully stay again. Recommended hotel.

We just had 2 nights at The Star, Brisbane in a River Suite and it was wonderful. The suite was very spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable and great views over the river.
All staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional.
Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from and all the food we had was delicious.
Couldn't fault it.

I visited Star Casino last night with high hopes, but unfortunately, it turned out to be quite a letdown. The venue has a lot of potential, yet it feels like they could better utilize the space for entertainment.

When it came to dining, my father and I were eager to explore the restaurant options, but we found the menus to be surprisingly basic given the high prices. We both opted for the steak, which was a safe choice due to the lack of variety. While the steaks were decent, they hardly justified the steep cost—I've had pub steaks that were just as good, if not better, for a fraction of the price. The presentation was also underwhelming; it was simply a steak with sauce on the plate, and with sides sold separately, our dinner bill soared to over $300, not including drinks.

After dinner, we headed to the gaming room, hoping to enjoy some playtime. I used my silver membership card, and between the two of us, we spent around $500 on gambling. However, I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to get my parking validated, which led to an additional $60 charge for just two hours of parking.

Overall, my experience at Star Casino fell short of the expectations I had. With the combination of lackluster dining options, high prices, and additional parking fees, I left feeling unimpressed and unlikely to return.

Not bad views from the skydeck

We stayed at the STAR Brisbane over the weekend for Valentine’s Day. My husband and I had the perfect stay. The staff were amazing. Very attentive and very helpful. The room was magnificent, we booked early and was able to get a King river, the view was magnificent. The bars had the best cocktails . The breakfast at the star is not the usual buffet but it works and you choose from a menu on what you want, love this concept. We went up after a long walk along the river to the Skydeck, and had a relaxing drink and lunch. The restaurants at the Star and around the Star look great, we only visited two but they were fantastic. The Star is the Jewel in the Crown of the new wharf area and it does live up to this. This is a five star hotel and we were lucky to get a fantastic deal. Thank you STAR for a wonderful weekend and to all your staff that were truly magnificent!

The star Brisbane was so impressive, from arrival to departure everything was amazing! The service and staff I have to say was a real stand out. So thorough with the check in process as without this it could be so confusing, so genuinely excited to be in their jobs it was refreshing. Amenities and food was fabulous and the aesthetics beautiful. The bed was so comfortable!!! We stayed in the king river room, I’ll attach some photos. Will return and would highly recommend!

Just stayed here for the weekend and absolutely enjoyed our stay. I read the reviews and was a little worried, but honestly, the place exceeded my expectations. We had a 3 year old with us and the room was nice and spacious for us and she had enough space to run around. The complimentary mini bar is a great treat. There are plenty of eating options, yes you do need to book in advance but if you let them know you are staying at the hotel they try their best to fit you in. We even tried the in room dining and the food was well priced and delicious. Yes the pool and other amenities are not open yet, but we took the ferry right outside the hotel and got off the next stop southbank and went straight to the lagoon. The breakfast is not buffet, but you get to choose one option from the continental and one hot breakfast and drinks included. Although I love my buffet breakfasts, I was not too upset about this. The sky deck is fabulous, and there is a separate elevator for the guests, which is such a plus. It has a lovely bar to enjoy a drink there too. With the little one, we didn't get a chance to explore the casino, but we will be back for sure. The service was great, staff was efficient, and I would highly recommend
