Typical country motor inn with exposed brick walls for the interior—overall, very tired and dated.||On the plus side, the room was relatively clean (except the lounge), and the bed was reasonably comfortable. However, the booking process was a nightmare: I booked two nights through Hotels.com, then cancelled one night within the no-cost window and rebooked accordingly. Despite this, the cost for one night on Hotels.com was $144. However, upon arrival (reception was only open until 3 pm), they had two bookings for me instead of one and could only put me in a spa suite (which I didn't need) for $174. After some haggling, the receptionist lowered it to $154—still more than the quoted price. At that point, I decided not to argue further.||Obviously, pets are allowed, as a barky dog was next door!||On a MASSIVE NEGATIVE, I was getting out of bed to shower when I was confronted by a woman letting herself into my room with a key—no warning, no knock. This is very, very poor form. I should have snubbed the door, but this is a huge security lapse.||Other areas where the inn needs improvement:|1. The alarm clock wasn't plugged in or set.|2. Wi-Fi speed was 2 MBps—barely worth the effort.|3. The showerhead had green calcification all over it.|4. The fan in the ensuite sounded like it was about to take off.|5. Wi-Fi signs and other notices were dirty and brown.|6. The air conditioning unit is ancient and ineffective, even at 18 degrees on a hot night.|7. All the wood paneling is chipped and worn, in desperate need of an overhaul.|8. The linen was threadbare and in dire need of a refresh.||Overall, the stay was far from satisfactory. Improvements in the booking process, facilities, and security measures are desperately needed. Fixing these issues would significantly enhance the experience for future guests.

For the Brain Injury Community, we stayed at Highlander before a regional Disability Expo. We were tired and hungry buy the tie we checked in. From start to finish our stay was just great! Check in easy, ordered our dinner (awesome thank you Chef Paul) the rooms were spacious and clean, the beds so comfy and you don't want to get out of the shower because the water pressure is so good! Breakfast started the Expo day off perfectly too! Thanks again Highlander Team! Ang & Vanessa

Everything about our one night stay was excellent. From the time we booked ahead over the phone, the staff members were friendly, helpful and professional. The suggestions for places to visit during our short stay were on point. The room was well appointed, roomy and very clean. The dinner which we had through room service was one of the best we have had for a while. Thanks everyone.

Our stay was great and the staff friendly and accommodating. Likes: salt water pool with shade cloth, Room service on time and easily value for money - we could have eaten out, but that's not as much fun! They also listen to my allergy note, plus plus.
Dislike: and its most hotels switching to byo - to use the TV. ... Cast screen didn't work - whether that was My device or the TV who knows which left us watching normal TV. I miss when foxtel was included in hotels to watch movies but a small dot point.
Location: food down the road, local and close to city centre / medical, parks and shops.

Moving to Toowoomba, we spent 2 weeks here late Oct 2024 whilst we were waiting for our permanent home to become available. If you have pets, they have special rooms available (for cats or dogs), so your fur babies can stay with you. They have an onsite guest laundry, plenty of parking, are are central to almost everything in town. Every staff member we met was amazing. So very kind and helpful it made the stress of living from suitcases bearable. I recommend this place to everyone I know coming to TWB.

Wonderful location and amazing staff. Room was clean and large, easily fit a family of four. Had an issue with the tv but the staff did everything possible to fix it and made our stay comfortable. Definitely recommend and will be back next time we're in Toowoomba.

What an awesome room to start off with, very spacious, soft and very comfy king size bed just for myself. Staff members Mandy and Paul are just wonderful. Very warm, inviting friendly, geniune and sincere people and very factual, knowledgeable and very professional 👏 👌 👍 🙌 😀. Absolutely are a complete credit to themselves and to the Highlander. My evening meal was superb. Very nicely prepared, presented 🎁 and timely and was very muchly enjoyed. Thankyou so very much indeed for making my overnight stay a completely enjoyable experience and home away from home 🏡 😊. Thankyou Mandy and Paul.
