The Toowoomba Flower Festival is an annual event typically held in September, attracting numerous visitors from surrounding areas. This flower show is highly regarded for its vibrant floral displays and creatively decorated flower floats. The parade of floats is a major highlight, with each float meticulously designed around different themes, showcasing vivid colors and innovative ideas that create a stunning visual spectacle.

The festival features a wide variety of flowers, from classic roses and lilies to rare exotic blooms, which not only showcase the diversity of nature but also draw in gardening enthusiasts and experts for learning and exchange. Visitors can enjoy not just the sights but also participate in flower arranging workshops, photo opportunities, and other interactive activities that make the experience truly immersive.

Overall, the Flower Festival is more than just a floral exhibition; it is a community celebration that boosts local tourism and provides visitors with a delightful opportunity to connect with nature and art.

Great display of flowers and plants trees and gardens. Easy walking and not too many people or over crowded. Plant of room for wheel chairs and walkers. Cofffee shops and cafes just in town. This would appeal to all ages and families.

The town’s gardens were small but stunning and the pride from the volunteer information booth was inspiring. To talk to the actual gardener’s was enlightening at their booth. A personnel touch well delivered. The local house gardener ‘Grand Champion’ was also a highlight (see pictures) and I’ve never seen black petunias. Blew my mind. Congrats Toowoomba.

If you love flowers, this is a must-go-to the carnival! The flowers are such a beauty! The only downside when you go during peak season is that there’ll be a lot of people there hence a bit harder to take your desired photos if you’re not patient enough 😅. Also, I think starting from mid-September is maybe the best time to go as all the flowers will be in full bloom by then.

September is the month to visit Toowoomba for the carnival of flowers. It's a truly international event with more than flowers on display. It's a celebration over a month with something for every generation. From the food and wine festival, the carnival parade, to the magnificent gardens both private and public on display to the broad variety entertainment and above all the country hospitality of the Toowoomba people.
