On arrival we were given the wrong room twice before being given the correct room. The security guy helped with our luggage to change between rooms. Nice clean large rooms. Friendly staff. Definitely resort style with 3 swimming pools. Would stay again

The room was clean and of decent size. Lots of kids around but still quiet. Tarriff represented good value for money. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The restaurant looked great but I didn't have the opportunity to eat there. The menu prices looked competitive.

Beautiful resort building and layout. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. 3 pools to choose from and the pool bar, Cafe is well priced with good food.
Location is close to airport, yet quite a walking distance from the main town, yet a short taxi trip.
Has a lovely Queensland tropical vibe and although we don't have children with us, as it's very kid friendly set up, we love it and the price for 2 weeks was great.

As a local family juggling stressful jobs and a busy schedule, we were looking for a relaxing escape close to home—and Cairns Colonial Club Resort delivered beyond our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for, making it the perfect spot to unwind and spend quality time together.

The room was clean and renovated, modern, and incredibly comfortable—exactly what we needed for a peaceful night’s rest. The food was outstanding, with every dish tasting fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

Special mention to Matthew, the operations manager, exceptional customer service. He greeted every guest with genuine warmth and went above and beyond to ensure everyone, including us, was having a great time. It’s clear he takes pride in creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Our son had a blast too, which made the experience even more special for us as parents. We’re so lucky to have a place like this right in our community. If you’re a local family looking for an stress-free getaway, we highly recommend Cairns Colonial Club Resort —it’s a gem we’ll definitely be returning to!

Big Thank you!

We enjoyed a lovely 9 night stay here at the Cairns Colonial Resort. The rooms were just lovely and serviced daily. Very happy with the level of service provided. We utilised 2 of the 3 pools available and they were just amazing after a long day out travelling around to come back and relax with a swim. Car parking was a little tight over the weekends as they are very busy then but was still able to get our hire car into a close car park. The gardens were lovely to walk around, and we had breakfast and dinners in the Flamingo restaurant which was just delicious. The Pizza and pasta restaurant was also a hit with my family too. Will definitely be booking another holiday to this resort.

Our family of 5 stayed here as a quick break to celebrate before the busy season. The reception location and staff were friendly and welcoming. Beyond that we found the resort to be tired and in need of attention. Our room was compact and clean despite the parades of ants but not much more than a motel room. No outdoor space or niceties. Outlook was a driveway and very little privacy from surrounding units. Pools were almost murky and not enough pool towels available. Each time we used the pool it was full of people who thought it was their private pool for their own family party rather than for all the guests. Gardens around the resort filled with litter and cigarette butts or weeds. On our second night we arrived home to a bag of garbage at our front door, loud neighbours and the continuous smell of cigarette smoke wafting in from others not following the rules. Not at all a four star experience. The resort is large and sprawling and I feel could do with some roaming security guards. We won’t return here again and wished we had known more before booking.

(Cairns colonial Club)The service wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad. Lady rolled her eyes at me when I was trying to look at the menu for what options of food that I could get at the cafe. My bed That I was sleeping on kept moving around because of the wheels and the wheels wouldn’t lock in place. loud music at 11:30 at night.
The small pool with a waterfall Had dirty water coming out of the jets and the pool water was dirty also. The Cave pool also had dirty water too. They need to make the water clean in the pools and The main pool with the waterslide and the deck also had dirty water in it .location wasn’t great either. At least there was the Cairns skating rink Nearby. And the food was good. This place isn’t good for Kids because it has cigarettes on the ground and drunk people being loud outside our door. Don’t stay here on Friday night .I don’t recommend to come to this place

The Cairns Colonial club was a great stay for the weekend with family. It's great for kids and parents alike with the pool right next to all the restaurants and the bar, so while the parents eat and drink while watching the kids while they can have fun in the pool. The location is ok it's not a super far walk from the main road. While the rooms were clean and look exactly like the pictures and the beautiful plants when you walk out.
